I'm gonna be pissed if he "saves" Detroit on the backs of us suburbanites. Let bankruptcy take its course. The only thing currently worth saving down there is Comerica Park and Ford Field.

Does he remotely have authority to do this?

He might as well not stop at raising taxes for the roads and raise taxes a little more to save Detroit.

Yeah, I heard that half of Detroit's homeowners don't pay taxes and they wonder why they're on the verge of bankruptcy. Many are used to receiving not paying.

Yeah, this has been on the news radar for quite awhile... $200+ million deficit this year, and the remarks of Obama needs to bring home the bacon for Detroit voting for him. How much were these politicians being paid again?

This vid clip was circulating from December...

Detroit is a post apocalyptic shell.

What they should do is fill the salt mines under the city with explosives and sink the whole town and instantaneously turning Livonia/Redford area into beach front property. Problem solved. And at a very fiscally responsible price.

It might be cheaper to just blow a hole where the river can fill the mine and dissolve the salt pillars holding it up.
I have to wonder how long it would take for the river to fill that hole.

Detroit is currently in the middle of a cultural renaissance.

Letting the city go bankrupt will be more costly in the long run.

That would ruin the Lake.

She's got plenty of bacon. Obama doesn't need to bring anymore back home for her.

Wonder how much those massive leather chairs they're sitting in cost the taxpayers.
