Days before the March 1 deadline, Senate Republicans are circulating a draft bill that would cancel $85 billion in across-the-board spending cuts and instead turn over authority to President Barack Obama to achieve the same level of savings under a plan to be filed by March 8.

The five- page document, which has the tacit support of Senate GOP leaders, represents a remarkable shift for the party. Having railed against Senate Democrats for not passing a budget, Republicans are now proposing that Congress surrender an important piece of its Constitutional “power of the purse” for the last seven months of this fiscal year.

ALL of them inside the Washington DC beltway are spineless Jellyfish.

Well most are snakes too...

Let's just invite England's King back over to 'the colonies' to call the shots?

A bunch of fuckin cowards... more scared of their lobbyist bank rollers, than their constituents.

And people think that rank and file republicans are going to care in 2016 that Rand voted to confirm Hagel.

at some point you have to think about cutting the ropes, so they don't take us down with them. I am finding my activism is better spent outside of the gop. In my town mentioning the word republican is a no-no! luckily the dem's and indy's in my town know i'm not establishment or those neo-cons. You should see the horror on their faces when i talk about individual liberty and smaller gov:), especially when i admit i am a republican. Then i have to back track and explain i am not one of those war mongers, anti-marijuana,anti constitution kinda of republicans that they despise. One common thing the majority of our town/voters agrees on. Marijuana is no big deal and it should be legal as well as hemp. As a voter base it was a uniting issue;) So i will continue to unite!

Does blaming all this on Obama really mean that much to them? When are we going to arrest them for treason?

I tweeted it and will try to get interest in it but I am not sure they all understand it. And I am sure that Mr Spineless Majority Leader is counting on that.

I think it would be kinda romantic to put all those bastards on the new titanic ship that some billionaire is building and send 'em out to sea.

This is a new level of pathetic

Can the senate do that, even though the constitution explicitly states the opposite?

Unfortunately even if it goes to court by the time the supreme court gets it, even if they take it, the time would be past, likely. The SCOTUS DID overturn a line item veto for 'non delegation of separation of powers' issues.

This is the sound of the Republicans caving to their own special interests. They are betting Obama won't cut the military.

I mean Rand Paul will try and do something to stop this but since he's a RINO for voting for Hagel he won't be allowed...

As he has professed to being an Afro American of color, why wouldn't president Obama utilize this opportunity to further transfer reparations to his own people? I mean, he did write down on a form that he is of "Negro" ancestral decent. Am I the only one who noticed that? Of the 51,000,000,000,000 said to still be owed to those children of former African slaves, how much of it has been paid? A trillion of it? Perhaps president Obama will take this opportunity to shift another 50,000,000,000,000 over to the Afro American community? Then again, perhaps he will just abolish the U.S. Constitution, the U.S. Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court as "His Golden Voice" certainly won't want to relinquish any of the power given to him.
From now on, the political war is going to be a battle taking place between those black people who would consider themselves Afro American, and those white racist people who have been painted extremists by the media corporations.
In the end, tyranny has, is, and always will be a black and white, red and blue world.

Can they just go ahead and finally throw away the Constitution? Next it will be they are going to let Obama be president for a few more months after his term is up.

Yup. They are basically saying calling his bluff and saying "go ahead and make the cuts where YOU want." It's a pretty good strategy for the Republican machine considering that both sides work for pretty much the same gang. Not a particularly good strategy for liberty, but then the "massive" sequestration cuts are themselves a miniscule joke no matter how you slice it. This is all about posturing for the masses. No good will come of it.

After receiving a negative reputation point, beloved Ron Paul forum members, I'd like to deeply apologize for the off-topic comment I made recently in this thread of which I have posted below:

As he has professed to being an Afro American of color, why wouldn't president Obama utilize this opportunity to further transfer reparations to his own people? I mean, he did write down on a form that he is of "Negro" ancestral decent. Am I the only one who noticed that? Of the 51,000,000,000,000 said to still be owed to those children of former African slaves, how much of it has been paid? A trillion of it? In the end, tyranny has, is, and always will be a black and white, red and blue world.

Once again, though I did try my very best to use all the political correct terminology necessary to qualify myself as someone who has never once used the "N" word (no, really!), I do apologize if I offended anyone's sensibilities. Again, I'd like to clarify that I don't believe president Obama is the second coming of Adolph Hitler. Again, I'd like to express my deep sorrow at my behavior, beloved forum members. I am deeply ashamed not just at being an American at this time, but just flat out deeply, deeply ashamed. Please forgive me, oh Puritan goddess of American literature and supreme director over us all, for I have gravely sinned against thee!

You remember the Republicans, don't you? Those principled, courageous conservatives who've pledged to defend the Constitution?

Well, they've evolved - or mutated, if you will - from being Obama's loyal opposition to being his craven toadies. And now, though it seems impossible, they're about to sink even lower:

Days before the March 1 deadline, Senate Republicans are circulating a draft bill that would cancel $85 billion in across-the-board spending cuts and instead turn over authority to President Barack Obama to achieve the same level of savings under a plan to be filed by March 8.

The five- page document, which has the tacit support of Senate GOP leaders, represents a remarkable shift for the party. Having railed against Senate Democrats for not passing a budget, Republicans are now proposing that Congress surrender an important piece of its Constitutional “power of the purse” for the last seven months of this fiscal year.
The Chief Executive has already usurped the power to declare war, and to ignore immigration law and the Bill of Rights. Here's Obama accepting this newest power, with commentary at the end from a disgruntled dissident:

Let Congress cede. All the more reason for us to secede.

They also want to make his horse a consul. Well, not yet, but--led by neocons--they seek to build the presidential dictatorship as they have since Lincoln. And keep in mind that this contrived hysteria does not involve what Murray Rothbard called a cut-cuts, actual cuts, but rather a proposed cut in the proposed increase. No matter what, the State will spend more of our money next year than this for its domestic coercion and foreign murder. So why the wailing and gnashing of teeth? To propagandize for more taxes, more looting of the diminishing productive class for the benefit of the parasites.
