In a news conference today in London, Secretary of State John Kerry slammed the Syrian government for offering peace talks to the rebels, insisting that he didn’t believe they should be taken seriously and promising to step up US involvement in the ongoing civil war.

Kerry said the days of the rebels “wondering where there support is or if it’s coming” are over, and that the Obama Administration is determined to “hasten” the regime change that it has been pressing for in recent months.

US officials have previously couched their intervention in Syria as aiming to “change the calculation” toward convincing Assad to cede power, but they also seem to be pressing the rebels hard to spurn anything resembling peace talks, even though some Syrian officials have expressed openness to a negotiated settlement and a transition to an election.

Seems that another military intervention seems to be near. How about send a few protestors at the white house demanding that we stay out?

These BSC! politicians should all be rounded up and be detained indefinitely or better yet, droned, for providing material support to terrorists.

US Congress: 'Fight Terrorism, Arm The Terrorists!'
http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/132848.html

Witness this weekend's appearance by the Representative from New York's 16th Congressional district, Elliot Engel, demanding that the president's already destructive policy of covert support for the rebels in Syria (most of whom happen to be foreign jihadists) become an overt and expanded policy.
[...]
What, one might ask, is a Member of the US House like Representatives like Mr. Engel, who strongly and passionately supports the State of Israel doing introducing legislation that would result in a gusher of arms flowing to "the fastest-growing al Qaeda front in the world, attracting fighters from across the Islamic world."? Does it make sense?

John McCain Tweets Article Pointing Out How Scary Some of Assad's Opponents Are

...It is interesting that Sen. McCain would cite this article as a “must-read” considering that he is a proponent of arming the Syrian opposition by working with "'third-world countries' and the Arab League." If the U.S. were to send arms to the Syrian opposition, even while trying to make sure the weapons do not end up in the hands of jihadists, it is hard to imagine that some of these weapons would not find their way to al Nusra and similar groups. By sending arms to rebels in Syria the U.S. could very well end up aiding organizations that wish to harm the U.S. and its allies after Assad is removed from power.

Unfortunately for interventionists like Sen. McCain both the Assad regime and its opposition include groups that are not fans of the U.S. Assad is being supported by Iran and Hezbollah while his opposition includes groups like al Nusra. If the rebels overthrow Assad it will be in large part thanks to the efforts of jihadist fighters. If the rebels overthrow Assad with arms supplied with the help of the U.S. what is the interventionist strategy then, are we then supposed to engage in another set of operations to address the jihadist influence in a post-war Syria? Given the growing jihadist influence in Syria it is hard to see why a Syria after Assad will necessarily be better for the national security of the U.S. and its allies.

Might be just the thing to get WW3 off the ground. Wonder how Russia feels about this?

Exactly, it will go over worse than a turd in a punch bowl. They need something to preoccupy peoples' minds when the debt, deficit, lack of employment, the onset of the Obamacare affects and scrutinizing of the Fed are becoming top of the list.

Good point, a war containing dictators, former communists, and Islamic extremists in a region we love to hate (that doubles as our oil dealers)? You couldn't write a better Hollywood script!
