Army Vietnam Veteran, peaceful freedom activist, and local small businessman, Mark Schimdter, has been jailed for 145 days by Judge Belvin Perry. Schmidter's sentence began Thursday after he was found guilty for distributing jury nullification info outside of Perry's self-imposed "free speech zone (http://www.activistpost.com/2011/05/free-speech-zones-killing-free-speech.html)." during the Casey Anthony trial.

"external contempt of court"?
Is that a thing?

I really don't see how this is possible. Does the man just have no resourses to defend himself? There has to be some way to get the matter moved into another court.

Slightly off topic, but I wouldn't think the Casey Anthony trial is the best place for FIJA activism.

Dunno, but "free speech zones" aren't real things, imo.

Only when they are enforced by men with guns.

I know, right?

How can one "self-impose" other than upon ones self? Tower of babel :(

edit: next we'll hear that he was "self-governed" into jail?

The Judge created the "free speech zone," not the activist.

Judge Belvin Perry issued Administrative Order # 2011 03 which states that if anyone hands out information, talks or hold a sign outside the courthouse, they would be held in contempt of court and jury tampering.

Mister Perry needs to be humbled.
He may control what happens in his courtroom during a trial, but that's as far as the fairyland authoritarianism goes.

This isn't stupidity and of course, nothing is going to happen to this judge, other than going right on making six figures at taxpayer expense.

This is about teaching this Mundane a lesson, about compliance, about not ever daring to question our rulers.

Got it?

That's all this is.

Your rights, your liberties, your very existence, mean nothing to these people.

You will fucking comply, do you understand?

Now, whatcha gonna do about it, boy?

I think the question is, what are we going to do about it? Just sit here and bitch about it, or get ourselves in positions that we can change this stuff?

He is pretty much guaranteed to be forcibly denied the Right to a Trial by a Jury of his Peers.

Maybe we need to get a large number of people together and see what happens when we can't all fit in that tiny square.

Problem A - Everything not inside the courthouse is "outside the courthouse." So according to the quote, you can only talk or hold signs inside the courthouse.

And if you want to flyer a courthouse, inside isn't the best option, and neither is immediately outside the courthouse. Hit cars, parking garages, parking lots, and be fast about it if you aren't looking for a confrontation. (which I am not.) Maybe someone might have a mission of confrontation, but my mission is maximum flyer delivery asap.

Nope. Get out there and leave some fucking fliers.

They may soon violently engage you for your peaceful actions. Remain peaceful for as long as possible. At some point, it is called "defense" if you live through their assaults. But waiting will get you the same things waiting have always done in similar situations.

Lets just see how many "brothers" he has out there that really care for there own, and since everyone supports the troops and all....or does that only go as far as a magnet on their bumpers?
