1. Senate to Vote on SB 281

Tomorrow, the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will vote on SB 281. We need to make one last push to visit Senators in person, make phone calls, and write emails. If SB 281 clears the Senate Judicial Committee, it will go to the full Senate floor for a vote as early as Friday. Let them know you fundamentally oppose the bill.

2. Town Halls

We have three town halls to announce. It is absolutely essential that we conduct ourselves in a respectful manner in these events. Rude comments, rude remarks, and remarks about "from my cold dead hands" will not win over these delegates. Those comments only win over those already on our side. Follow our message. Talk about how these laws impact you. Talk about unfair penalties, talk about how the excessive fees disenfranchise people, or about

3. House/Senate Hearing Dates

The first round of “Gun Day” hearings in the House will start at 1PM on Friday, March 1. On Tuesday, March 5, the Senate will hear the second round of “Gun Day” hearings. MSI is planning events for both dates and will be announcing more details shortly. In the meantime, we encourage you to sign up to testify online by visiting the following link. We are hopeful that but you can begin by signing up to testify online.

4. Sign Up Online to Testify

As quite a number of you recall, the line to sign up to testify at the last “Gun Day” hearing was rather long and moved at a glacial pace. We are working with members of the House to help alleviate long wait times. Part of our efforts will involve having as many people as possible sign up online to testify. We also hope to have multiple sheets available on both the 1st and the 5th to allow the line to move faster.
