The parents of a toddler with spinal bifida are outraged after TSA officials forced their daughter to undergo a series of additional security measures ahead of their flight to Disney World.

Nathan and Annie Forck were flying out of their home state of Missouri on a February 8 flight bound for Orlando, Florida with their wheelchair-bound daughter Lucy and their two other children.

Mrs Forck took a six-minute video detailing their toddler’s cries as she said through tears that she didn’t want to go to Disney World anymore, and is claiming the TSA discriminates against people who use mobility devices.

Security has a job to do. It sounds like they considered it unnecessary or harassment . Everything else aside, the video was well done. The mom attempts to comfort her daughter, and at some point she even says something like "no one touches my little girl unless I can film it."

It's all a farce anyhow. The TSA did not take apart her wheelchair. They did not do an internal patdown (there are weapons that are not metal, gels which can be concealed). They did not take apart Lamby. In other words, they did not eliminate every threat. They won't, either, because it would be too time-consuming and too much work for the braindead workers they have at the TSA... which means what they DO try to do is utterly pointless.

As non-American it is strange to hear about those things. I wanted to visit North America. Not anymore. TSA is the main reason why. I simply could not watch my mother, father, sister, brother or girlfriend being touched like that. I dont mean I couldnt watch it. I mean I would really have hard time restraining my self from spitting in their faces or punching them in a face. Just thinking about that possibility fills me with disgust and brings out some other really primal emotions. My brother is going to Brazil this summer. Why? No TSA.

By now, you’ve probably heard about the three-year-old girl whose spina bifida not only confines her to a wheelchair but rendered her a prime target for the TSA’s sadists when her family flew to Florida. Little Lucy Forck and the abuse she endured has monopolized my Google Alert on the TSA for three days now.

Bullying children, especially when they’re disabled, is SOP for the agency. The roster of rug-rats the TSA has tormented is as lengthy as it is shameful. But preying on these pitiable youngsters is only one of the TSA’s talents. It is equally skilled at defending such indefensible cruelty. However horrific its crimes against these wee ones and despite the nationwide fury each time it molests another handicapped kid, the agency consistently avers that its goons “followed proper … procedures.” It never apologizes. Instead, it lectures ungrateful passengers that it respects their dignity and privacy, blah, blah, blah, even as it obviously violates both.

And so its reaction to Lucy’s trauma stuns. The TSA “regrets inaccurate guidance was provided to this family during screening and offers its apology … We are committed to maintaining the security of the traveling public and strive to treat all passengers with dignity and respect. While no pat-down was performed, we will address specific concerns with our workforce.”

Whoa! Whoever imagined that the word “apology” would cross the TSA’s snout-er, lips? (By the way, this disgraceful spiel is an apology only to the sociopaths in the mainstream media and the TSA. But still…there’s the A-word, front and center.) Notice the lack of boilerplate about “standard procedure,” though the TSA couldn’t help mouthing its usual lie about “treating all passengers with dignity and respect.”

I have no explanation for this unique phraseology and welcome any you care to provide. The TSA’s unprecedented humility can’t be due to the family’s videotaping its nastiness: other victims have, too. Can we attribute it to Mr. Forck’s status as an attorney? I doubt it: the TSA regularly defies the lice-sorry, lawyers that comprise Congress.

Or perhaps after all these years the agency has embraced “Public Relations 101.” If so, and hearteningly, it isn’t working. The Forcks may have accepted this vain and vapid “apology,” but no one else has: hatred of the TSA is too virulent.

Check out the spirited rebuttals and denunciations that the nauseating “Blogger Bob” – whom we might more accurately call “Propagandist Pete” -- earns over at the TSA’s website when he pretends to “Clarif[y] … the Screening of 3-Year-Old Girl at Lambert–St. Louis International Airport.”
