The Kentucky Republican Central & Executive Committees will be meeting this Saturday. They are planning to discuss rule changes, so I hope all our people get there and are alert. It might be nothing big, but in the past they've tried pushing loyalty rules and there are some rumors they might be pushing some of the RNC's ideas.

The one thing they've disclosed wanting to discuss is moving our Republican officer elections from presidential election years to off years. I was hoping to get some quick input from folks as to whether this is harmful or acceptable to our interests? Thanks!

They obviously want to hold these elections when the grassroots is least energized, and thereby give the die-hard club members the most sway. Mostly bad, but if we're diligent it's a wash.

Agreed, if our people can't mount up whenever needed then we don't deserve to have the party influenced in our direction. It's all about organizing one's locals whether it be C4L, RP meetups or whatever to keep people engaged on activism relating to the issues and showing up as delegates to county/district and state conventions as a matter of a hobby or a way of life. We need to spread the marathon mentality where people stay actively involved and never quit. It's amazing how much we can accomplish by just showing up.
