This was literally the only part of the SOTU or response I saw on live TV...came at the perfect timing....then walked away lol

Almost up there with Perry's "oops" moment. This is the first I'm seeing it since I didn't any of the speeches. I really had to wonder if that really happened. This is the GOP "savior"? Oh my.

I'm thinking he wants a contract to sell bottled water. That was HILARIOUS.

You know, when I see things like this, it often provokes a sympathetic reaction - a sort of mixture of pity & comisseration.

The Michelle Bachmann "corndog" photo did the same thing (much more strongly than this one - perhaps because she is female).

I genuinely felt sorry for her, and thought, "what a sad thing - she'll be cruelly mocked & ridiculed for this ...".

But then I remember that these bastards are assiduously promoting & defending policies that are wrecking the country, destroying liberty, and killing countless innocents (here & abroad) - all for the sake of their own prestige, power and wealth (and that of their cronies).

And then the feeling goes away, and the schadenfreude kicks in ...

When my big D democrat mom saw this speech, before Rubio even drank the water, she said " He's terrible at delivering speeches!" And then when he drank the bottle of water, she said "You know, in the history of these speeches, has this ever been done? He just completely blew it!"

I found this video very interesting, actually. You can see the cat problem solving. At first the cat recognizes that there is a stream of water in front of it. It tries drinking it by just sticking its tongue out like it normally drinks water, but feels the pressure of the falling water is too much for his tongue to withstand without pain or irritation. So to solve this, it breaks the fall of the water with its head, and drinks the slow-moving runoff.

Cats are more intelligent than many give them credit for.

Meh, probably had cotton mouth or that thing that happens when coke (heheheh) runs down the back of your throat.

The raised eyebrow does it for me. Can't imagine what was going through his head.

Are we even sure that is water he is drinking. Vodka perhaps? Maybe five hour energy?

He looks so guilty drinking that water. I mean if you gotta a thirst quench it like a man. If that was Ron Paul he would have downed a gallon in one pull, belched the refrain of Fur Elise, and then continued dropping truth bombs as though nothing happened.

Rubio, its okay for you to be thirsty, indeed it makes sense what with all that hot air your blowing.

He looked like a nervous kid at a soccer tryout he is not prepared for.

Taking a sip of water wasn't nearly as bad as the minute leading up to it where he was trying to talk with cottonmouth (and doing progressively worse). He should have taken that sip 60 seconds earlier.

The biggest problem with Rubio's speech, though, was the total lack of courage it represents. I probably could have written an algorithm to craft that speech. The content was totally uninteresting, which is probably part of why people are talking about the water instead.

Oh my gosh! I heard a CNN talking-head-with-a-Spanish-accent talking about the speech and she said she was so happy he took that drink, because up until that point he was really doing good.

I didnt know what she was talking about because I only watched Rand.

Just Googled it, and wow - it is indeed all over the internet.

It would have been great if water dribbled out of his mouth and onto his shirt, tie, or jacket.

And it's not even Fiji water.

Unless it was manipulated, the senator tweeted a picture of the bottle.

Shows what pressure he thought he was under and I don't think he would feel so pressured if somebody hadn't told him he was appointed/anointed.

Some people are saying he's not presidential material because of this, or because he was nervous. And at that point those people are just playing a political game of "who looks the best?" It is quite pathetic that people will view his person differently because of this.

The complete lack of content and the dearth of "Liberty" in his speech was far more disconcerting than his pathetic, cotton-mouthed, bumbling but of course the media and Idiot America will only focus on the Soap Opera aspect of it all.

'The government SHOULD NOT have fueled the housing bubble through loans!'

'The government SHOULD CONTINUE fueling the student tuition bubble through loans!'

'I graduated with 100k+ in student loan debt, just paid it off 3 months ago, and you can too!'

What kind of fool would take this guy seriously?

Yeah. He'll have a hard time recovering from that one. It wouldn't have been so bad if the water had been in his hand. Instead it looked like he was scrambling for it.

Marco Rubio is dipping in the polls as Jeb Bush is climbing slightly?
