A SC Senate subcommittee just passed my bill (S. 92) to nullify the portion of NDAA that allows government to arrest suspects without a warrant, hold them without trial and deny them access to counsel. A dissenting (Democratic) state senator argued that NDAA only applies to a member of al-Qaeda, but that's not true; the affected class of individuals is subject to being defined by government officials, and that's a scary proposition, especially at a time when a West Point report labels as "extremist" those who believe the federal government has "a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights" and those who "support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self government." Heck, that's me!

SC Senate Judiciary Committee just voted 13 to 7 to carry over (that is, not vote on) my bill to nullify NDAA anti-due process provisions.
