Obama is very good at destroying jobs, isnt he? (see latest jobs report).

Now this...

-
Global medical technology firm Smith & Nephew announced Thursday the layoff of almost 100 workers at its Tennessee and Massachusetts plants — and placed blame for the drawdown firmly at the feet of Obamacare.

The London-based company makes orthopedic reconstruction products. It faces a 2.3 percent tax on its medical devices, due to Obamacare mandates, Fox News reports.

In a statement, the company said: “Unfortunately, and in order to absorb this cost burden into or business, this has meant less than 100 positions have been made redundant across various departmental functions in our Tennessee and Massachusetts sites,” according to Fox News.

The company employs more than 11,000 in 90 countries. And it’s not the latest firm to announce cuts due to Obamacare-related cost hikes. In November, Fox New reports, Stryker medical supply company announced cuts of 1,170 jobs — 5 percent of its global force — to help cut costs from Obamacare taxes and mandates.

I wonder how many liberals will call for a boycott on medical devises?

We knew this was coming. In fact, many US Senators and similar folks even came out after they voted for the deal with a 1/2 hearted effort to get rid of this tax.

Color me surprised but Jean “the tax machine” Shaheen actually did the right thing. Too bad it is too late as she already voted for ObamaCare. Obama’s not going to vote to end the bill. Sorry Shaheen but you exercising common sense is 2 years, 8 months and 13 days late. Oh well, thanks for realizing that you voting to create a tax which may lead to 43,000 people being fired was a mistake.

This is personal for me because I know people working in the medical equipment industry. I hope those people don’t lose their jobs because Jean Shaheen is too lazy to even bother to look at a bill before she votes on it.

If these Senators had any guts they would approve a repeal of the tax in both chambers and force Obama to veto it.

The House voted to repeal that tax. I guess the newly unemployed have Reid (and Obama) to thank.

I love how Obama keeps saying the law is going to help them. Try telling that to all the folks who lost their jobs, as well as those in the health care industry that have to pay more for the products.

THis is the same bullshit the progs will peddle. They say ti is because of out bad health system. I assume the media will demonize the company the same way they demonized Papa John's Pizza. Where's the Mises institute when you need them.

These medical companies generally do nothing important anyways, so I guess some good can come from Obamacare.
