The PBS piece says reslolution is to six inches (basically one pixel in the image captures anything six inches- a person's ass would be about two pixels depending on how big it is- their whole head, about one pixel)- Must be some big hairs.

It is still some pretty amazing technology.

That is current generation. A 100x increase is resolution will allow for much finer detail and larger area of coverage.

Of course I am just making this up, but I am sure something along those lines is coming, at some point...

When was the last time you went up against a Warthog or a Hind? Those things are literally flying TANKS!

In that same series, they also talk about how boeing is developing a drone that can stay in the sky permanently! Just think how useful that would be for spying on people in the homeland .... oops .... I mean for military surveillance.

I think the truly scary though is when you combine these super cameras with the algorithms that can match and identify faces with pictures in a database. We are entering a brave new world and I hope you all are ready. I know I am not.
