No kidding there are dumb people. I'm amazed that Palin doesn't have more votes. I've seen a similar poll recently where she did.

so because paul stands by his convictions, that's going to disqualify him in more voter's eyes over rubio's tendency to not be the conservative he advertised himself as?

Why he may not be the pick: Despite his father's appeal among many younger voters and libertarians, he came nowhere close to winning any of the primaries in the 2012 election cycle. Rand also has some libertarian views on the War on Drugs and foreign policy, especially the deployment of U.S. troops overseas, that could hurt him among more mainstream Republican voters.

Why he may not be the pick: Rubio has somewhat of a mixed record on issues like immigration that could leave him open to attacks by the conservative wing of the Republican Party.

this makes me laugh hysterically.

Why he may not be the pick: Republicans may be unwilling to choose a losing candidate, especially if it turns out voters were turned off by some of Ryan's more extreme positions on federal spending and tax cuts.

Yep, a plan that balances the budget in 26 years is considered "extreme" in the political climate that we currently have.

Kind of delusional to think Paul Ryan is a main contender. I also don't get why Jeb Bush wasn't listed as a top choice. I like how Rand Paul gets linked with Mike Huckabee and Michele Bachmann.

No idea if he will win or not but Rand Paul will be solidly in the mix in 2016.

rubio is freaking scary. If he wins the democrats are going to have to field a damned poor candidate not to win. He will out war even romney.

IF Hillary runs in 2016, I kinda hope RAND doesn't... I hate to waste him in a year we can't win. (Not that I think there is much chance of ever seeing a GOP POTUS again in my lifetime)

I would hate to imagine what the country would turn into after 8 years of Clinton, 8 years Bush, 8 years Obama and 8 years Hilary ...

And he will "outfail" Obamney as well. The GOP really deserves the smacking they've received in the past decade (and beyond if you get technical). The fact that they were so STUPID enough to pick Mitt the Mandated Healthcare Queen, the biggest RINO in GOP history rightly fits their crumbling party. They're basically democrats with red ties and a stronger passion for unconstitutional wars.
