This is an impressive speech for a man that spent most of his career in silent films and reminded me of the Ron Paul campaign in some ways. (Though I think there are a few odd ideas mixed in with the statements of liberty)

The last 2 minutes are the best but did you notice he said get rid of national boarders and make a one world and he never refers to a Republic, just democracy. Even back then the scripts were well written to get subtle messages thru.

Chaplin was a communist...

Communists were famous for hiding behind a facade of "liberty"

Even if he was, I didn't hear anything overtly communist in this speech - mainly just a cry for freedom instead of authoritarianism.

Chaplin was a Communist idiot and Hitler freed the German people?

Wasn't this video like the English version of a Hitler speech?
