Talked to about 20-25 people today about drones, everyones jaws dropped when I told them about the plans our government has to have 30,000 drones by 2020 in US skies watching over all of us. I could honestly see the fear in their faces, it hit them for about a minute and then they went back to thinking about Jersey Shore reruns or whatever in there heads i'm sure. I tied it in with the 40k laws passed last year alone and the ole' saying how if you are not doing anything wrong then whats to worry about. But when I asked if anyone knew those laws they all looked at me with a blank stare. I think some really understood what I was getting at and how this all tying together.

FAA: Look For 30,000 Drones To Fill American Skies By The End Of The Decade

Robert Johnson|February 08, 2012

http://articles.businessinsider.com/2012-02-08/news/31036604_1_drones-unmanned-aircraft-new-bill

Congress passed a bill this week paving the way for unmanned drones to ply American skies.

The bill requires the FAA to rush a plan to get as many drones in the air as possible within nine months.

How many drones are we talking?

Shaun Waterman at The Washington Times reports the agency predicts that 30,000 drones could fill U.S. skies by the end of the decade.

Solution: "Take all freedom away."

Shaun Waterman does not give any name of a person at the FAA who predicts the 30,000 drones.

Shaun Waterman just says, "The agency predicts..." but fails to back up his reporting with anything we can verify.

If someone of some authority at the FAA has actually made this prediction, I'd wish for S. Waterman to have told us who it is.

Seems like common sense to me.
