Want some truth?

1. socialism won't work, it will only result in totalitarianism, unless you're a democratic socialist, then you'll just have a piece of shit economy and run away inflation.

2. free markets is the answer. Does that mean corporatism? You see, socialists are unable to distinguish free markets from corporatism. Corporatism is state sanctioned monopolies, in order to control vast amounts of market share. You need GOVERNMENT intervention in the economy in order to sustain a corporatist economic environment, otherwise we would have a FREE market. Keep in mine, however, free markets doesn't necessarily mean you can't go and create your socialist villages, go ahead, who's stopping you? It's about leaving EVERYTHING to the people, without government coercion.

3. Property rights is to protect the environment, it is also to protect animals, you can't walk onto someone's property and cut down their trees or kill wild life. Can you in socialist (government owned) land? yes. A socialist government has no regard for the environment, they will cut down millions of trees, only private individuals knows what is best for their land and they will take care of their land the best, government doesn't know how to run the economy, government doesn't know how to micromanage supply & demand and government should not be running our lives!

bottom line: remember the industrial revolution? Absolute propaganda that it was the "free market" that led to the dumping of wastes etc no, it was the lack of property rights, we did not need an EPA. If a company harms your life by polluting your environment, we should be able to sue the fuck out of them, this is what gives companies the incentive to not dump things wherever is convenient. However, these days, companies tend to recycle everything they don't use or they sell it to another company that does, it's not profitable to dump shit into rivers.

supply meets demand. Free markets is the greatest democracy, we each vote with our money. I also believe in free market money and I believe in voluntary contributions (no taxes) as far as the federal government is concerned, this will keep it small and will also measure support for government policies. If you don't like the direction government is going, you can just choose to not donate anymore. States should have their own policies when it comes to taxes, that's what self-rule and state's rights is all about.

What do you think of this?

great post. Well written for the target audience of people who may not have considered that government and the economy is the foundation for the type of country people have.

It's a nice gesture, but a socialist doesn't care about these reasons. Socialism is based on envy. The natural consequence of that envy is that no one can have anything that someone else wants unless all of them can have it. From that you get redistribution, public ownership etc etc.

You could maybe get some progressives though. I've found many progressives aren't really socialist, they just care a lot about other people while at the same time being economically stupid.
