Inaugural ball to feature Lady Gaga

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Watch out Beyonce and Katy Perry. There's another diva set to perform during the inauguration festivities - Lady Gaga.

A person familiar with the inauguration tells The Associated Press that the pop star will perform at Tuesday's ball for President Barack Obama's staffers. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because that person wasn't authorized to publicly reveal the information.

The staff ball is typically a private affair. During the last inauguration festivities, Jay-Z reportedly performed for that event.

According to one attendee, Jay-Z rapped a riff on one of his hit songs, "99 Problems but George Bush Ain't One," to the delight of the throngs of young staffers who worked to elect Obama in 2008.

Did you see Jay-Z at the first inaugurial ball where he gave a shout out to the guy who made the "throw two shoes at George Bush" booth at the inauguration.

He lightened the mood the of the whole thing.

I do believe a portion of our tax dollars help throw some of these events (at the very least, the actual "public" event where Obama gets photo-op sworn in).

Also Lady Gaga would not be a terrible choice as a singer. The trouble is everything else. I don't believe she has the ability to not be the center of attention anymore. At least Beyonce was able to quietly and elegantly blend into the background and sing.

Its frankly disgusting how far removed he and his administration is from the reality of most americans. Hell throw huge lavish parties at the tax payers expense while millions americans continue to wallow in unemployment and poverty because of his statist and free market destroying policies.

This union of him and the even more removed from reality celebrities is scary. Millions of americans will tune into this shit and watch and adore their oppressors.
