An open message to those who think it’s time to take the guns
http://www.backwoodshome.com/blogs/ClaireWolfe/2013/01/10/an-open-message-to-those-who-think-its-time-to-take-the-guns/

I am a woman of a certain age. I have silver hair. Wrinkles. I’m tired. I don’t like conflict. I have never been arrested nor committed an act of violence. I want to lead a peaceful life. I sincerely hope you get to live in peace, too.

I am also a gun owner. Some of the guns I own are ones you want to take away or limit my ability to possess or use. You want to do this despite the fact that I’ve never used them for any aggressive purpose — and don’t want to. You want to do it to other people I know, despite the fact that their guns are no threat to you or yours.

As a gunowner who hopes to live a long, peaceful, free life and be a valuable member of my community, I have this to say to you. I speak only for me.

But I am not alone.

—–

So you believe guns will go away after you’ve forbidden them? They will go away exactly as much as liquor did during the 1920s, as much as illegal drugs have. Welcome to Prohibition. And the drug war. And all the futile violence they spawned, times ten.

So you imagine your loved ones will be safer because you’ve made our loved ones subject to your whim? You are putting everyone at greater risk.

So you believe that only police and soldiers should have guns? So did millions of other people, who died at the hands of their paid “protectors.” Study the history of genocide.

So you’re a member of some elite class and you believe you and your privileged friends will always be protected by armed guards, police, or soldiers? Fine. Enjoy the history of the Praetorian Guard.

So you believe that regulations, transfer taxes, permissions, paperwork, and more power for the most abusive, inept, and racist federal agency can be used to squeeze the firearms out of honest hands even if there’s no outright ban? Then you don’t know millions of your fellow citizens. You don’t know us, but you aim to take from us.

So you believe that we should spend 10 years in prison — or 10 times 10 — merely for possessing objects that you fear and want to put under the National Firearms Act? Mere ownership. Of mere things. Tools. Or parts of tools, like magazines. You wish this hideous fate for us, your peaceable fellow citizens? Without knowing us, you despise us that much?

So you believe we are your enemy? We are that only if you declare war on us. Leave us alone and we’ll leave you alone. We and our firearms may even protect you from harm.

So you fear armed Americans so much that you’ll try to disarm us at any cost to us — the cost of our lives, the cost of our freedom? Okay, then. We’ll give you reason to fear.

So you believe that you can use executive power or backdoor chicanery to bypass restrictions on government authority? Fine. We’ll show you which force ultimately restricts government, once government has shaken off all other limits on its power.

So you believe we’ll turn our guns and our lives over to you just because you demand it? Molon labe. Come and take them.

So you believe that we — the ones you have already declared to be evil, violent, fanatical, ruthless, fringe-oid, and so very, very dangerous that we can’t be trusted around children — will meekly submit to your will? Molon labe.

So you think your police and soldiers will be willing to kick down our doors to get our unregistered, privately held, or banned guns and throw us into prison for decades merely for owning tools? You think your armed, violent agents will do this to us time and time and time again — in the false cause of preventing violence? You think hired guns will do this dirty work for you year after ruthless, fruitless, defiant year? Yes, given the mentality of hired guns, some will. Some. The chaos they create will ultimately be laid at your doorstep.

Molon labe. Come and take our guns — if you have the courage of your convictions.

Raising the black flag and …

I see discouragement all ’round. Certainty of economic doom. Fear that we’re about to lose our gun rights. Rumors of Obama preparing to grab a third term (rumors not eased by sudden cawing from the chattering classes that we should just dump that old Constitution thingie because it keeps the gummint from doing everything on its wish list*). Dread of the looming Obamacare regime. And on and on.

The kleptocrats are taking their share now. Whatever happens, we’re going to have to work with their leavings. And clearly, however they have to achieve it, they do not intend to leave We the Peasants armed.
[...]
I will say this: If DiFi’s proposed gun ban or anything even remotely like it passes — for instance if private sales are banned or we’re ordered to get government permission to own firearms … well, it will be time.

And you know exactly what time (http://dullhawk.com/timesup.html) I mean.

But no time is just one time.

It will also be time to make our rulers’ lives miserable in more mundane ways. They should never have a moment’s peace until they get out of our way and freedom’s way.

It will also be time to step up every possible form of resistance.

—–

In fact, with or without a new gun ban, we face stark choices. For anyone who loves freedom and stays in the U.S., life becomes a continuous act of resistance.

Some of us have chosen, and will continue to choose, to avoid “them.” To go around the stupid laws and restrictions. To treat Authority and its works with the scorn they deserve.

But they’re making quiet resistance — creative disregard — harder every day.

Oh, there will always, always be room for Outlaws. In fact, in the world they’re creating, there will be more Outlaws (and small-o outlaws) than good citizens. Heck, what am I saying? There already are.

But Outlawry in the future will have to become a more active occupation. It will be more dangerous and require more toughness and determination.

The years ahead ain’t gonna be a time for sissies.

The years ahead are going to be time for hard choices.

You say you want to stay and take your country back? Okay. But face what that’s going to mean. Face exactly what that’s going to mean...

Based on the historic Gadsden "DONT TREAD ON ME" Flag (shown at the bottom of this page), this updated version shows the rattlesnake finally striking, instead of simply rattling. It tells the enemies of liberty that for over 200 years we have watched liberty and freedom being outlawed, ridiculed, restricted, marginalized and destroyed. Tyrants were warned "Don't tread on me" and they refused to listen. Time's up! This is the new flag of the resistance.
[...]
However, this flag is not a "Tea Party" symbol. It gives no quarter to authoritarians of any stripe. If you seek to control the voluntary, consensual interactions of any individuals, this message, "Time's Up", is aimed at you. If you support the War on Drugs, welfare, national borders, nationalized "health care", "gun control", taxation, racism, or any other statist cause, "Time's Up".

He's got them, but it sounds like they suck. http://dullhawk.com/shop.html

I also have these “Time’s Up” stickers available. They measure about 3 1/2″ X 2 1/8″. They look good, BUT... I don't recommend using them outdoors; they fade badly in the sun and can't stand up to weather at all!

They cost fifty cents each, plus fifty cents for shipping any number. So, if you want one it would be $1.00; if you want ten, it would be $5.50. If you order a flag or a shirt, I may toss a few in as a bonus if I don't forget. Ask and you shall receive.

Also, if anyone knows a guy (or knows a guy who knows a guy):

"Time's Up" Items-

I am once again sold out of Time's Up flags!

My source for flags (that I don't have to place a large, expensive minimum order with) has, for now, dried up. If anyone is interested in an investment opportunity to get a new batch manufactured (particularly the 3' X 5' flags), let me know. We can work out details.
