A double rainbow over the Sea of Galilee. Paul said he hopes it was an "omen that my trip here will bring fruit."

Cajun would prefer it if we just didn't reach out to anyone and just talked among ourselves and whine and complain about the state of the world.

Anarchists don't believe in electoral politics or the campaign to take over the GOP. Canjun regularly poo-poo's any efforts to do so.

He wasn't hating. That's what it means. Also, I'm glad Cajun might not beleive in taking over the GOP. That's a great idea. Now winning over the GOP, that is something worth believing in! Of course, winning over, while it is might be much more effective in the long run, takes more effort in the short run. It's a lot of work!

Take it over and subjugate it to our values.

If the neocons can do it so we can we. And we must be prepared to do whatever it takes.

That didn't work out well anywhere it has been tried so far. Maybe the brute force approach by liberty activists will eventually prove to be successful. Maybe it won't. Either way, I want nothing to do with it. I'll continue to use the persuade approach because IMO, it's the right thing to do. After all, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

It's hard to break through to brainwashed people yet very easy to spoon feed what appeals to them. In many if not most cases, there's a shot off mechanism built-in that needs to be massaged around. I favor Rand's approach to using the foreign aid debate to get one's foot in the door in regards to making the discussion of a more reasonable foreign policy palatable. If that lack of full transparency and bold truthbombs upsets your stomach, I'm truly sorry for that. Ron's going to proceed forward in the way he knows best and Rand will take his road which will likely end up on Ron's trail when it's all said and done.

Edit to add: before someone comes along and gets their panties in a bunch, I AM NOT accusing Rand of lying about anything. This is the path at least one of his supporters in this thread wants him to take of which I am being critical.

You don't have to lie in politics, you can bend the truth and you can keep quiet about some of your true intentions.

Obama is a socialist who believes in higher taxes and grabbing guns but he doesn't go around saying it explicitly.

We believe in abolishing the Fed and the Income tax but we dont have to make it a central theme of our campaigns.

We can talk about other things like Jobs and the Economy without mentioning it and then whence in power work to undermine the Fed and the IRS.

That way we sound eminently reasonable to the typical dumb voter who can't comprehend complex liberty positions and in return we get their vote to attain power and carry out what we believe in and what we couldn't properly make them understand.

If you want to waste campaigns trying to explain everything to voters then you'll burn through money and lose a lot of races.

At first, I thought people were trying to be funny when talking about "using" this to an "advantage", because it makes reference to a meme. I read this thread hoping for jokes and banter. I think most people would laugh if this was "used", thinking one is trying to be funny at first... then realize they're being serious and become unamused.

Despite a belief to the contrary evangelicals aren't 60 IQ retards who you can just show a video to and that makes them to decide who to vote for.

Put it this way: If Obama saw a double rainbow would you change your views or your vote. Of course not. And you'd be offended and/or laugh if someone wanted to change your politics because of a rainbow.

One of my complaints of people on this forum is they perceive anyone who is not a Ron Paul fan to be a disinfo agent or retarded. The world isn't that simple.

If you were a religious democrat you might see it differently than if you were a religious Republican. It is just a nice thing that happened, and a rainbow is a sign of hope. But the whole subject is being over-analyzed at this point.

The world isn't that simple.

True, intelligence and discernment are two different things. There are many things that can affect the discernment of an intelligent person.

I have a problem with steering the naive or uninformed by use of imaginary things that are known to the driver to have an effect on those naive or uninformed. It is not unlike steering elections by giving out phones and then allowing the poor to think the phones are free and from Obama, because someone has to pay for them and it ain't Obama.

I don't think that it will steer anyone. Rand's reaction to it just showed a part of him that people might identfy with. That's all. It's about likeability.

It doesn't appear as if Rand visited Bethlehem or the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the holiest place in the world. Next time, I hope he visits the place where Christ rose from the dead. I tell you, that will be the first place I visit if I make it to Jerusalem.

Actually, someone told me that most rainbows are double...just that one is usually too faint to see. Next time you see a rainbow, look above it and see if you can make out the faint "twin".
