If Rand Paul runs for POTUS in 2016, I hope his sons look nothing like Mitt Romney's sons did this past year. Silver spoons and poor public performances did nothing to help their father win (I have to say thank you!) But I don't want to see more headline news like todays http://news.yahoo.com/police-rand-pauls-son-charged-assault-114309758.html If Rand Paul goes forward with a run - it's going to be hard enough to win as it is!

So please, William, Robert and Duncan Paul, I know all of you are free individuals and make your own way in life, just please consider doing something that will help your father and not hurt him over the next four years. I suggest you all consider joining the service, maybe the Air Force like your grandfather.

What is misdemeanor assault these days, lol? A tap on the back?

Duncan would be the most likely and I've had conversations with him about it. But he's only like 16 I think, so we should give him at least 10 years to experience life a bit before anyone tries to burden him with this :-P

No way would I ever consider telling somebody else's kid they need to join the military to advance their father's career.

There are so many things wrong with that I'm not going to start listing them all.

Ron didn't exactly volunteer voluntarily. He was sent a draft letter and told he could be a captain and practice medicine and pick his service arm if he volunteered, otherwise to show up as a private. He volunteered.

I'm a veteran. I don't have a problem with it.

I have a lot of hope for Duncan but it's very long term, we're talking 20-30 years :)

There are so many things wrong with that I'm not going to start listing them all. That was my thought as well.

Don't worry, Rand's 2016 advisers will whip the boys in shape if he's serious about running. That's why they get paid the big bucks.
