The Founders and the names of things; a bulwark against socialism

for the gloomy

Although the Founders are dead, their names and ideas are alive; especially their names. The names of the Founders will always command respect because millions and millions of people, places and things are named after the Founding Fathers. Hence, when consulted, the words and ideas of the Founders will always command respect no matter what the socialists do.

The three most famous Founding Fathers are Washington, Jefferson, and Franklin, followed by Madison and Adams. After that, Hamilton, Paine, and Hancock. And Patrick Henry, James Monroe, John Marshall, George Mason, and Robert Morris have good name recognition as well. I also include Andrew Jackson as a Founder since he served in the Revolution and served in the Senate while George Washington was president. [and Adams stands for three people]

Now think about these names.

Think about how many cities, towns, villages, counties, and states are named after the Founders.

Now then, remember all the rivers and schools and mountains and parks and streets and buildings named after the Founders.

Take James Madison for example; we've got Madison Wisconsin, Madison Avenue, Madison Square Garden, Madison county, etc.

We've got Sam Adams beer and the John Hancock building. Washington DC. Jefferson this and Jefferson that. The Adams Family, It goes on and on and on. George Mason and Robert Morris universities. Patrick Henry "Give me liberty or give me death!", the most famous quote of all time.

The names of the Founders are ubiquitous.

And don't forget PEOPLE. There are millions of people named Washington and Jefferson and Adams and Jackson and all the others even if to a lesser extent.

And you might squint at first names, but if you are named George or Thomas or John, James, Patrick, Benjamin, or Samuel don't you take special notice of the Founders of whom you share a name?

Nowhere in the words and deeds of the Founders can you find socialism. Nor the income tax or the War of Drugs or wars of aggression or big government bureaucracy. Even Hamilton never advocated this stuff.

In fact, federal spending remained at only 1.75% of GDP in 1912.

OK, here is my fun challenge

If you read this, please share with us things named after the Founders where you live, or the people you know, or if in fact, you share a name with a Founder.

I will start; I live in Madison Wisconsin and there are zillions of things named Madison around here. But we also have Many businesses and apartment complexes named Jefferson. We have nearby Jefferson county, Adams, county, and Monroe county. We have Jefferson, WI. We have Washington Avenue. We have two Franklin streets nearby. That's just a start, now its your turn.

Cheer up, there is hope.

When you compare what the founders said to what they actually did, the OP's claim doesn't hold water.

That's very cool. I've got a friend who is a direct descendent of Thomas Paine. His middle name is Paine and I swear the guy looks and drinks like Paine.
