However, the police do sound a bit tentative in concluding that it was a justifiable shooting, despite the naked intruder attacking the dog and trying to attack and bite the homeowner.

Hmm... the subject was acting like an aggressive dog who choked the home owner's dog and tried to bite the home owner himself.... I don't think the cops knew which dog to shoot lol. I think they assumed that the aggressive 'dog' was the one shot and so they didn't need to shoot any other dog?
