View Full Version : Chicago Police Chief: We'll SHOOT licensed civilians with Guns

"He said that citizens licensed to carry could be, and indeed predicted they would be shot by Chicago Police Officers."

“I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”

"Did you know in his younger days, he and his NY State Police Trooper brother, while highly intoxicated and off-duty, shot out street lights outside a bar on St. Paddy's Day in the 46th Precinct where McCarthy worked. They then nearly started a riot by shouting the "N" word at locals."

And how are we to know that the police aren't really home invasion gangs dressed as police?

And if a cop has a gun in his hand and turns toward me...

Why the fuck not? You already attempt execution on citizens holding flashlights:

Cops in most cities would probably do that anyway. They are trained to shoot anything that even remotely resembles a threat. Barking puppies. Men getting out of cars in an awkward manner. Homeowners holding a rifle to a burglar's head. Etc.

They are, we hear about it in the news all the time. Their MO is to shout, "Police, search warrant.", then they break down the door and terrorize the people living in the home while killing their dogs.

This is not a surprising statement. If you pull a gun on a cop, be prepared to fire because they aren't going to wait to see what happens.

In some places cops are glad to have law-abiding citizens help them out. In other places, any move by the citizenry to 'take their streets back for the law-abiding' is seen as a move by a rival gang to take over their turf.

After all, why would a criminal bribe you to let him go if he'd just get caught again by some damned civilian?

Why would he fear lawful citizens with firearms? They aren't going to be carrying their pistols in hand... they will be concealed in holsters (I hope). The only time they will be out is in defense of themselves or others. ... and in that case, the weapon will be downrange on the subject until the subject is secure. Once the subject is secure, make the weapon safe and holster while awaiting after-action procedures (911, crime scene....)

The only reason to "pull a gun" is to use it, firearms are not for threatening.

I think it's a requirement for cops to look like this in Chicago.

He would be right at home working with the mob......on second thought he is already the godfather of a mob outfit.

He works in Chicago's city hall. He's a member of the Joint Chiefs of Shaft.

This looks like a "Where are they now?" segment about the Village People.

Yup. SSDD. Cops confuse lots of things for guns too, and people get shot and killed over the "professionals'" inability to differentiate between a gun and things like a ballpoint pen (http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=8820624).
