SAN ANTONIO (Reuters) - A public school district in Texas can require students to wear locator chips when they are on school property, a federal judge ruled on Tuesday in a case raising technology-driven privacy concerns among liberal and conservative groups alike.

U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia said the San Antonio Northside School District had the right to expel sophomore Andrea Hernandez, 15, from a magnet school at Jay High School, because she refused to wear the device, which is required of all students.

The judge refused the student's request to block the district from removing her from the school while the case works its way through the federal courts.

The American Civil Liberties Union is among the rights organizations to oppose the district's use of radio frequency identification, or RFID, technology.

"We don't want to see this kind of intrusive surveillance infrastructure gain inroads into our culture," ACLU senior policy analyst Jay Stanley said. "We should not be teaching our children to accept such an intrusive surveillance technology."

WTF! ACLU, aren't we a little late to the party?

Let's skip this pussy chip bullshit and go ahead and just put ear tags on all of the students. Gotta have an easier way to keep stock of inventory, after all. Maybe get a few administrators with cattle prods in case the students get ornery as well.

That's how they handle things in Texas, son.

More conditioning to the police state. Was school ever like this for you?

Not nearly as bad as having RFID chips on all the students, but I grew up in a rough area in Richmond, and my high school felt like a little prison. Barbed wire fence, metal detectors, officers all over the place, administrators stalking students up the hallways.

Even so, this chip bullshit sounds worse than all of the above to me.

SAN ANTONIO (Truth) - The people of the Republic of Texas can require teachers to wear locator chips. Federal judges are also required to wear tracking chips while in the Republic.

The people of the Republic of Texas have the right to expel U.S. District Judges if they refuse to wear the device, which is required of all employees of the Republic.

Perception is one of the weakest aspects of self proclaimed liberty types. If one looks to the larger aspect here then it's clear that people need to really pay attention to what just happened more so than they actually are.

Forget about the "source" from the op for a second. It's a source. And one that tells the reader the story that it wants to frame/reframe into the minds of the sheep they wish to herd.

Here's the issue. The real one, mind you. This judge made the decision because he said he "didn't think she was premising her objection based upon her religion". He said " I think you are doing it for secular reasons". He was clear and specific in making that clear to the girl after she testified today.

So do you see what just happened there? That's a big fuggin deal. Judges cannot disregard the Constitution like that. They can't. At all. The only way they'll ever be able to place into the minds of citizens that they can is if the sheep fail to comprehend the relevance, accept the tyranny based upon a half baked source scribbling up a screed reflecting half the story and proceed to beg for the terms of controversy to be refiggered during discussion regarding the matter. Or placed into "General Politics" to be clear. And, oh yes. As always. The people will love them for it.

Make no mistake about it. This will be appealed all the way to the Supreme Court. And premised upon just the notion mentioned above. Watch and see.

And there is already a thread on this. A good one at that. If this gets moved anywhere then that's where it should get moved to specifically instead of just tossing it wherever at the whim of a keystroke and premised upon a given mod's personal range of scope in comprehending the relevance in the matter.

Unfortunately, this place is getting much like msm with all of the meme programming more and more each and every passing day. Important things are rarely perceived to the extent that they really should be in scope because they get moved or buried. I put very little faith in moderators organizing important current events. Who says they have a clue about what is really important and what is not? That's insane.

Too much "at this point" logic has become popular and short sighted visionaries do not make very good leaders. They never have and they never will. People need to wake up and pay attention to the important things. Sadly, it seems the meme is to condition people to follow the leader (as blind as they may be to what really lies over the hill and through the woods) and to think less critically about these things when they come up. Everyone likes a good meme. Well...memes don't get the job done. In fact they get in the way. Every single time. Sometimes they go out of their way just to get in the way, in fact.

This has been an ongoing event down in Texas. Schools across the country are keeping a very watchful eye on this because if the girl doesn't make her case then they too can then proceed to do as this initial school district has done. Or attempted to do.

Btw. Texas has not and cannot "force students to wear RFID locator chips". Just because some dolt editorializes an assuption in a manner that leads the drones to just say "uh....umkay" because they just don't want to take the time to open their eyes and look to see how it really breaks things for them in scope doesn't make it so. Not by a long shot. As I said. This will be appealed all the way to the Supreme Court. And it's a very big deal, to be clear.
