Please vote for "Shire Sharing Foundress Amanda Bouldin (www.shiresharing.org) " the group consisted of almost all Ron Paul peeps but all are liberty loving people. We raised money to feed over 700 less fortunate people this Thanksgiving. Amanda was winning this poll up until 10 minutes ago when a police officer received 100+ votes in a very short period of time. So we are asking for two seconds of your time to vote.

For the police officer who found this post. Good detective work. Next time you should look a little further. I AM NOT a Free Stater. Not all Ron Paul voters are Free Staters to assume they would be very bigoted of you. I hope you do not make the same assumptions when you see an African-American walking down the street.

Click to vote for liberty activist Shire Sharing (http://shiresharing.org/) Foundress Amanda Bouldin here: h xxp://www.girardatlarge.com/pollquestion

Why?

So a cop who unjustly jailed liberty activist Ademo Freeman (http://www.examiner.com/article/new-hampshire-man-serving-60-days-for-writing-with-chalk) doesn't win a Machester, NH area's 2012 Person of the Year award that will likely receive a lot of media attention in the area. Thank you.

What do you mean "break the link"?

You left the link live. This leaves a redirect so the site owner can see from whence people come to his site. This often leads them to the false conclusion that people here are voting more than once, rather than just sharing the links. Sometimes they remove our candidate. Sometimes they just discount their votes. Or take the poll down.

I'll break it, and you can fix it if you like.

As many of you remember Manchester Officer Dan Doherty was shot last March and nearly lost his life, in fact a doctor stated in trial 9 out of 10 times a person dies from the injuries he suffered. Currently there is a vote for person of the year in NH and several people were nominated. One of which a free stater who are Ron Paul supporters. The votes were going Dan's way until a free stater posted on a Ron Paul forum that a LEO was going to beat one of our own (free stater) without help. Now voters from all over the US are voting for this free stater. Spread the link and vote.

Published at 6:15 PM on Monday January 7, 2013

We regret to announce that we have been forced to remove our Person of the Year Poll questions. More than 22,000 votes have been cast since Sunday morning from a handful of IP addresses that have cast the overwhelming majority of the votes cast. We believe these are votes cast by automated systems designed to skew the poll and not actual people.

While we appreciate the enthusiasm of our nominees supporters, we cannot allow those votes to be counted or to continue. We are evaluating our options to see whether or not it is possible or practical to review the votes cast and remove those cast from the offending addresses.

If you have not yet voted and wish to register your vote, please email Rich through the Contact Us page on this site.

Thank you for visiting our site. We apologize if you are new and have yet to vote. If you're here to vote again..... :-/

I'm not going to post the actual biased and full of lie blog post here. Click on the link above to see it if you want. However, look at some of the comments. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

cblodg January 8, 2013 at 12:31 pm #
As far as I’m concerned, “Free Staters” are like parasites. I really hope more and more of this stuff comes to light and we might be able to purge NH of these parasites.
Of course, a free staters is the exact opposite of a parasite by definition.

But through their extremism, through their stated goal to “take over” the state, through their ignorance of local history and the actual views and needs of people in New Hampshire, through the hateful rhetoric of some members, and through the wholesale failure to disavow that rhetoric or the members spewing it, the entire Free State Project is now tainted by what may (or may not) be only a few bad apples.
Of course, the FSP has no goal of taking over anything. It is true that some Ron Paul people around the country really want to take over various GOPs. However, I know of not a single FSPer with a goal of taking over anything except a mortgage in NH. With 20,000 people, it is impossible to take over a state. You win more flies with honey and that is my approach. It is a pretty easy approach for me, too. I can point out that my family has been in NH for generations. In fact, there are generations of my family currently in NH.

But, unfortunately, the pseudo anarchist/ we’re so cool we carry guns/let’s go read more Ayn Rand novels attitude that fosters the atmosphere that creates and/or tolerates the ugly comments about Officer Briggs and Officer Doherty makes it difficult to want to find common ground.
Unfortunately, there is nothing wrong with carrying a gun or reading a book. In fact, despite what the #2 leader of the Democratic Party of NH thinks, those are good things. She certainly has a double standard as she doesn't mind when police carry guns. As for Officer Doherty, the vast majority of those ugly comments weren't made by FSPers, despite her lies. Additionally, he did go out of his way to arrest innocent FSPers and other local liberty activists when he could have chosen not to violate their rights.

Keith and stuff
01-10-2013, 10:59 AM
The Union Leader covered this, even making NH Democratic Party #1 look bad. Well, the coverage didn't make him look bad, his comment did. As he called out liberty people from around the country that made negative comments (even falsely implying that they were FSPers) while ignoring what the cops did and said.

John DiStaso's Granite Status: 'Person of the Year' poll spurs vitriol from self-described Free Staters
By JOHN DiSTASO
http://www.unionleader.com/article/20130110/NEWS0602/130119943

VITRIOL. A radio talk show host's attempt to name a 2012 Manchester Person of the Year has turned into a bitter war of words in recent days between elements of the Free State movement and supporters of a police officer shot in the line of duty.

The social media battle, which went far beyond the city and state, comes shortly after the Free State group was the subject of strident remarks by Democratic Rep. Cynthia Chase, who called it "the single biggest threat" the state is facing.

And while the Granite Status normally doesn't report on popularity polls, the circumstances surrounding this one are far out of the ordinary.

Richard Girard of "Girard-at-Large" on 90.7 FM WLMW shut down his poll sooner than planned this week. So many automated votes were cast that he believes the contest was skewed.

Girard listed Manchester Police Officer Dan Doherty and Free Stater Amanda Bouldin of the Shire Sharing volunteer group among 11 nominees (including weatherman Al Kaprelian and Mayor Ted Gatsas) for the title.

As votes poured in - more than 95 percent almost evenly split between Doherty and Bouldin - ugly comments were spewed on Facebook and certain web forums about Doherty, referring to him, for example, as a "statist brute" and a "corrupt cop."

There was even a reference to Officer Michael Briggs, killed in the line of duty, as a "pig."

Unflattering messages were also directed against Bouldin and the Free Staters by backers of Doherty.

When Girard shut down the polling, about 26,000 votes had been cast, many by "automated systems designed to skew the poll, and not actual people." He intends to review the votes, weed out the bad ones as much as possible, and announce the results this week.

Girard said it's possible that in the interest of making peace, more than one winner will be named.

Girard did not expect what was supposed to be an upbeat, fun contest to recognize community stalwarts to get so far out of hand.

"But in a way, it's good," he said, "because if there is that kind of bad blood between the Free Staters and law enforcement, then this poll surfaced it, and I hope to use the show to bring in representatives of each side to discuss, and hopefully end, the discord.

"I believe they have more common ground than they realize, but outliers on both sides are contaminating the dialogue," Girard said.

Bouldin could not be reached for comment. She apparently became so discouraged by the nastiness that she withdrew from the contest.

"I imagine the intent of this award is to draw the community together and shine a light on the kind of impact even one person can have," she wrote on Facebook.

"Unfortunately, it's just become divisive, and I believe that detracts from the original intent."

Bouldin, who moved here from Dallas as part of the Free State Project, organized a successful "basket brigade" for Thanksgiving through Shire Sharing, a self-described "collaborative effort among liberty activists to address social ills through voluntary action and private charity."

Girard said that 700 families were helped.

A Facebook page supporting Bouldin was taken down Tuesday, after generating a host of off-the-chart personal comments from individuals and groups identifying as Free Staters.

When the police community got wind of the Free Staters pushing Bouldin, they responded.

A forum appeared on MassCops.com, entitled, "Shot NH Officer in need of help to defeat Free Staters."

Manchester Police Sgt. Ken Chamberlain, sergeant-at-arms of the New Hampshire Police Association, wrote, "We cannot allow a Free Stater to win this against a police officer who was SHOT in the line of duty and was almost killed. I am asking IMPLORING all of you if you have not voted to PLEASE vote, and if you have voted, you can vote again. You can vote as many times as you want."

On the site's forum, one unnamed writer referred to Free Staters in unprintable language referring to reproductive body parts. Others called one Free Stater a "mental midget."

Democrats reacted to Free-Staters' posts with outrage.

"The lack of civility and willingness to besmirch someone who nearly gave his life for our community, and his fellow/sister police officers, is pathetic," posted state Democratic Chairman Raymond Buckley. "Also, sadly, I didn't see anyone on the vote for Bouldin Facebook page denouncing these comments."

Pull results announced. Since Amanda withdrew from the poll, the think the results are obvious to everyone :)

DOHERTY WINS. In the wake of our report last week on the nasty anti-police comments by Free Staters surrounding a local radio show's "Manchester 2012 Person of the Year" poll, host Rich Girard has announced the winner was Manchester Police Officer Dan Doherty.

And Bouldin, following the strident anti-police comments by her fellow Free Staters on Facebook and other blogs, withdrew from the contest, citing the "divisive" comments.

Girard was initially concerned that many automated votes designed to "skew" the poll had been cast.

But he's since written on his web site that after sorting through the data, with the help of a database expert recommended by Bouldin, they concluded Doherty had won.

"Several different formulas were created and run to screen the data to find the best way to count the legitimately cast votes and exclude the automatic votes," Girard posted.

"The real challenge became how to separate the good votes from the bad ones where multiple votes came from the same or blocked IP addresses.

"While the numbers varied with each formula, Doherty had the most votes in all formulas used."

Girard said 43,769 votes were cast and 22,000 visitors made 26,000 visits to his poll site in the week the poll was on line."

He said Doherty has agreed to an on-air interview with him on Monday, Jan. 21 at 7 a.m.

Girard noted that since a friend of Bouldin helped him analyze the data, "anybody who thinks the game was rigged should know that."
