PRESS RELEASE: U.S. Representative Massie Votes No on Fiscal Cliff Deal (http://massie.house.gov/press-release/press-release-us-representative-massie-votes-no-fiscal-cliff-deal)

Jimmy Duncan on facebook: On the fiscal cliff deal, I was strongly in favor of the tax cut provisions and had voted for them on several occasions; however, because this bill, the way it was written, will add almost $4 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years, I just could not vote for it.

In addition, it was filled with several goodies for special interest groups, including money for rum producers, movie and television companies, NASCAR, and even algae growers.

Jim Jordan on facebook: Last night, I voted against the fiscal cliff deal crafted by the Senate. The one bright spot of this bill is that it makes permanent most of the tax relief Republicans have championed for more than a decade. Unfortunately, it also allows taxes to increase for many families and small businesses. On spending, which is the real problem, this classic Washington deal is worse than doing nothing. We'll never get the budget balanced by delaying the few spending cuts that were agreed to in the summer of 2011.
