California has passed a law allowing Google's self-driving cars, with some limitations, and now allows the use of a smartphone to prove driving insurance coverage.

Flashing your headlights at other drivers in Florida to warn them of speed traps is no longer illegal.

Illinois $1,000 fine if you pop a wheelie on a motorcycle. As a trade-off, motorcycles that are too light to trigger a change of traffic light no longer have to wait for a car to show up. After a reasonable amount of time, they can simply go if it's safe.

Illinois, sex offenders can no longer hand out candy during Halloween

Wellington, Kansas limits the number of kitties you can welcome into your loving home to four.

Kentucky, you can no longer release wild hogs into the wild. Yes, you read that right. So if you caught it, you have to keep it. Oink.

Concord, Massachusetts, you're likely going to see a bit more empty space in the beverage cooler section of your local 7-11. As of today, in an attempt to reduce the city's carbon footprint, sales of single-serving plastic water bottles is illegal, and businesses attempting to still sell them will be fined $50. There is an exemption for emergencies.

North Carolina, lovers of fried foods cannot steal unused oil. Oddly, this would appear to not be covered by a simple law against theft. In fact, if you steal more than $1,000 worth of unused cooking oil, it's a felony.

if you post a job opening in Oregon as of today, as an employer you can no longer turn down someone just because they are currently unemployed.

Kentucky removed phrases from its constitution that spell out guidelines on pensions for Confederate soldiers. So sad to lose that piece of history.
