george romney looked and acted very respectable way back in the 1960s.
the potomac fever might be generational and doesn't at all skip over people.

“He had no desire,” the eldest Romney son said. “If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside. "

Yeah, right.

And if you watch the video at the link, it is all about the "hispanic" vote and Romney being "too tough" on immigration.

Yes. The Mormon Church has gone to great lengths recently to spread their church and be seen as a "mainstream" Christian organization. They even hired a Jewish-owned marketing company to do aggressive ad campaigns and public relations for them.

That doesn't hardly mean this was the man's entire motivation for tilting this windmill of his.

Well, that's true. But remember that Mitt Romney is a high ranking member of the Mormon Church, and as with all cults, there are no independent actors. Everything is very tightly orchestrated and centralized.

He was indeed, the man was practically frothing at the mouth for it. But he was "told" what to do and why. To screw Ron Paul and his message over.

Thats not a bad thing. Another wave of people were fooled and theyre looking for something better than the dinosaur gop brand and that alternative is the Ron Paul brand.

I can believe him because he spent not one penny of his own money on this race. Despite losing he is going to profit off this race by selling books.

LOL - I'm not sure if that was intentional or not.

The unit of currency on Triskelion, that which they placed wagers with, was "quatloos".

And here I thought no one wanted it less then Ron Paul. We had to almost drag him kicking and screaming to run again. All Mittens had to do, was not cheat and play by the rules, and the reluctant Paul would have been our next POTUS.

I chucked a pair of darts at a wall, with various words pasted to it. The darts hit "No" and "Shit."

Well, if only it were as obvious to the rest of the GOP as it was to us! I remember die-hard Republicans asking, during the debate season, "Why doesn't Mitt attack Obama?" I remember those same people, after the debate season, asking, "Why doesn't Mitt attack Obama?"

My vote for Johnson was really, REALLY the right move. (At least in Nebraska, where it would have mattered less than a fuck if I had written in Paul. They don't even tally the write-ins here.)

Why do you think they gave Romney the job of cheati--er, I mean beating him? President Paul would have done many wonderful things, indeed. Maintaining the status quo wouldn't have been one of them.

That's against the rules. If you won't maintain the status quo, well, we all now know what the media will do to you. Ron who?

Just caught this article. If Mitt didn't want it, he could have stepped aside and let Paul take the campaign. I'm disgusted.

Tagg Romney said his father "wanted to be president less than anyone I've met in my life," according to the Boston Globe.

“He had no desire,” the eldest Romney son said. “If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside. He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them, but he has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn’t love the attention."

Tagg Romney told the paper that his father was resistant to running because of his unsuccessful 2008 bid for president.

The oldest Romney son was an instrumental figure in his father's political career. He served as an adviser to the 2012 campaign, and has worked on previous campaigns.

Like his father, Tagg Romney attended Brigham Young University and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. However, he told the New York Times that "I’d be really surprised if I did [run for office]. It’s a really horrible process, and honestly I just don’t want to go through it."

Ann Romney told ABC in November that if her husband lost the election, he wouldn't run again.

Missed it by about eight hours. On this forum, you've got to get up pretty early in the morning to scoop the newshounds. Or, at least, earlier than this.

http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?399396-Tagg-Romney-Mitt-Wanted-To-Be-President-Less-Than-Anyone-I-ve-Met

It was Romney's job to win the nomination and lose the election. And he did a good job of it. As we decided hours ago in the other thread.

I've read several times it was his wife who pushed him to run in 2008 and 2012. She's the power hungry one in the family.
