The Congress was about to discuss a vote on renewing the Foreign Surveillance Act (FISA) when one of the lawmakers has asked his colleagues in Senate to approve the bill without discussion. And the renewal of the Act taken in 2008 allows the officials to wiretap the emails and phones of Americans, so will the Congress hold debates on the bill or will pass it without discussion? RT's Liz Wahl is joined by Eric Draitser, geopolitical analyst to answer the question.

Unfortunately, this is more this guy's view of FISA than about Senate procedure, but....

Unless we have some patriots inside the .gov who are brave and organized (and large enough and high enough) to stop the juggernaut, we non-zombies will get steamrolled just the same.

It was on December 18 when Saxby Chambliss objected to debating the bill because he wanted the Senate to just pass the House bill instead of the Senate bill with debate. They've since reached an agreement and now there will be a debate on the bill and on four amendments on the 27th.
