Same here. On that same coin I would also petition for those to be able to petition whatever they wanted to. (I'm surprised the universe did not collapse within itself after typing a sentence like that) The idea of deporting Piers Morgan gives me a little chuckle but I won't be signing the petition.

But the truth is, Britain has the highest crime in all of Europe. Even higher than the US.

Another angle is that he will always have bodyguards with him, so who is he to tell u or me to give up our guns?

I don't agree with a petition, but seeing a Brit (Redcoat) go on our television, trying to persuade Americans to give up their guns pisses me right off.

I don't want to violate the NAP by deporting him, but it would be nice if he'd do like Romney wanted the illegal immigrants to do and just "self-deport." But of course, he's not going to, because he likes the money and the opportunities he can find in America, but without respecting the ideological underpinnings that make that all possible.

And you know what else I wonder? How did a guy with almost no notable broadcast experience (besides judging some lame TV talent show) suddenly ascend to a primetime slot on one of the most-watched news networks in the world? Especially replacing Larry King, who, even though I never watched his show, at least comported himself like a real journalist/interviewer and didn't just blather about his own opinions all the time.

If you read UK sites, they [comments] have something to the effect of "We don't want him back, but he's right on this." Can anybody explain to me why Americans (or at least some) are the only people in the first world (as far as I know) still interested in negative liberty and less government? I can't comprehend how people in these other countries deal with only "positive" liberty and strong centralized states with very much power who can easily alter the constraints of the environment to minimize such positive liberty. I'd go insane if the U.S was as bad at giving people independence as some of these other nations, and under Obama it seems to be heading that way. Yet oddly these people feel smugly secure in their position as if we're backwards in our fight for our liberties and we're not entitled to our natural born rights. The only explanation I can have is that they don't share the same philosophy that we have natural born rights, which is quite sad.

Morgan seemed unfazed — and even amused — by the movement.

I'm sure he is; he's probably thinking something like thism, for all the publicity he's getting now: "This is plum pudding splendid! My bloody ratings are gonna jolly well shoot through the roof!" (sorry I can't do a better British accent).

It's because Statism has become a religion. There is no rationality left. Just worship of the State.

The State has become infallible. Any such complaints people may have, any grievances, or ill occurrences, are instantly attributed to not enough State. They willingly subjugate themselves in order to grant the State more Control.

Then we can't stop and wait for them. We'll have to be revolutionaries I say. It was even worse for the founders because it was all new to them, but we know that it can happen and it did work. So it's much easier for us as we know that we'll be rewarded in the end! :) I'm truly optimistic. I believe that the only reason these other states(countries) enjoy the freedom they do is because they have policeman America protecting them. If America were to fall or weaken, I wonder just how well they'd do taking care of themselves and protecting themselves from tyranny (Europe, for example, has a horrible record with this.) Americans will remember though, and we'll resurface, hopefully again as a free nation. Of course, that is if we don't take back our nation now, and before things get worse.

I don't see this as a violation of freedom of speech. That would mean censoring him and/or throwing him behind bars. This is the free market at work. It's public pressure. It's letting his employer know (and hopefully, eventually the show's advertizers) that his brand of speech is not wanted nor agreed with by Americans who stand by the Bill of Rights.

We want to keep Piers Morgan in the USA.

There are two very good reasons for this. Firstly, the first amendment.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/deport-piers-morgan-demands-us-petition-8430877.html

A petition calling for TV host Piers Morgan to be deported from the US following his outspoken comments on gun control has attracted more than 73,000 signatures.
...
Following the interview, a petition was posted on the White House website claiming that Morgan, 47, "is engaged in a hostile attack against the US Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment".

"We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens," the petition said.
...
Morgan, 47, a former newspaper editor in London, shot back at his critics on Twitter. He repeated his past calls for the United States to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and conduct background checks on all gun purchases.

"I don't care about a petition to deport me.
...
Christa Robinson, a CNN spokeswoman, said the network had no immediate comment on the petition.

Publicist Howard Bragman, vice chairman of Reputation.com, said the controversy will get Morgan attention that may translate into higher ratings and wouldn't harm his reputation.

"A lot of it comes from his being British, he's seen the differences between the U.S. and UK, he's passionate and authentic in taking this issue on, and it's probably only going to help him attract more people to his show," Bragman, told Reuters.
...
Morgan joked on Twitter: "If I do get deported from America for wanting fewer gun murders, are there any other countries that will have me?"
