The American Conservative Union Presents
CPAC 2013
Thursday, March 14 – Saturday, March 16, 2012
Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center
201 Waterfront Street
National Harbor, MD 20745

Jim DeMint, Ron Paul, Susana Martinez, and More Conservative Leaders invited to CPAC 2013
There couldn’t be a more critical time for conservatives to unite. As we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of CPAC, we are excited to present a conference focused on our timeless principles but also explore and define the future of the conservative movement. Among the many speakers recently invited to appear at CPAC 2013:
Jeb Bush, former Governor (R-FL)
Ted Cruz, U.S. Senator-Elect (R-TX)
Jim DeMint, U.S. Senator (R-SC)
Susana Martinez, Governor (R-NM)
Ron Paul, U.S. Representative (R-TX)
Marco Rubio, U.S. Senator (R-FL)
Paul Ryan, U.S. Representative (R-WI)
Tim Scott, U.S. Senator-Designate (R-SC)

What’s in Store for CPAC 2013?
Earlier this year, thousands of conservatives assembled in our Nation’s Capital for CPAC 2012, and, under the leadership of Chairman Al Cardenas, CPAC 2013 promises to be our biggest and best conference yet. You’ll meet and hear from our nation’s most courageous conservative leaders, participate in setting the conservative agenda for the coming year and rally support against the big-government policies destroying America.

Whoo Hoo!!

Oh, I hope he does.

What they really want is for blocks of tickets to be purchased and maybe to make up with his supporters now it is past being helpful.

All the same. Possibilities....

Ted Cruz, U.S. Senator-Elect (R-TX)
Jim DeMint, U.S. Senator (R-SC)
Ron Paul, U.S. Representative (R-TX)

If they all speak plus Rand Paul, that will be quite a day for a lot of the folks on this Forum.

Hopefully this will draw more Paulites to CPAC and boost Rand's numbers.

well, here in Ron's subforum I think Ron speaking will be popular. ACU thinks so as well, in a low profile year between elections, it seems.

I hope he does it. I wonder how it will work with him now on a speaker circuit though?

He's never charged for this, never could as congressman, and ACU doesn't pay.

But I'd really like him to be there. His CPAC speeches have all been memorable.

I'd be very surprised if Rand didn't speak as well.

Ron is really a living legend.

I hope people understand just how lucky we are to have been a part of the last 2 election cycles.

Sen. Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush are two of the top name speakers for CPAC 2013, the American Conservative Union announced today.

The Floridians will join Sen.-elect Ted Cruz, Sen. Jim DeMint, Gov. Susana Martinez, Rep. Ron Paul, Rep. Paul Ryan and Sen.-designate Tim Scott.

Part of me would love to see Ron Paul speak, and the other part would like to see ACU go to hell after their change in leadership.

Well with Rubio speaking and Rand Paul not speaking, obviously setting the wheels in motion to try to unify the GOP behind Rubio as the supposed front-runner. Try, I said. I can see why people would question why young Paul is not speaking, though my hope is that after elder Paul speaks, people wonder if that influence will and has spread to his son. That, in effect, could draw people to Rand Paul if people start to look at the similarities between him and his father.

Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part that this doesn't hinder on Rand's supposed 2016 chances should he indeed decide to run.

I don't think Ron confirmed he'd do it, I think this is the first round of invitations. I hope Ron will do it, but SOMEWHERE along the way he is entitled to actually get his speaking fee.

I wonder, if he goes, if we could get him 'defender of the Constitution'? It would be a big step up from Cheney.

Is this the part where he gets $50,000?

not from ACU, no, that was one reason Palin didn't speak her first year on a speaking tour, she didn't want to give it away for free and compete with herself, I suspect. But I'd like Ron to go. Completely up to him on that front, though, he is entitled to make money, he's been doing it for free for decades.

Is anyone going to CPAC next year?

That's a question. I think the early bird tickets end January 1, per the website, although the blocks of tickets for speakers/sponsors can't have been issued yet. We didn't know Ron was asked though. And I don't know if C4L YALiberty will be organizing for it, but Ron SPEAKING is a good thing, anywhere, any time, and to non 'choir' audiences, is excellent.

Given the list of speakers that will be present (Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio), I wouldn't mind seeing Ron pull one of these at the end of his speech:

I don't want associated with that dreck. ACU can keep giving that award to abject statists, as far as I'm concerned.

Sigh.. I know.. that is what people said about the Nobel prize, too, but I'm thinking of it as media. I want Ron in the media.

It boggles the mind to see Jeb Bush listed as one of the Conservative speakers. I suppose I should get used to it, the establishment plans to have a Jeb Bush/Rubio ticket and media will tout them as the saviors of Conservatism. They will spout Conservative talking points and even sound like Ron sometimes to fool the herd.

They can't be serious about another Bush. And since it appears Hillary is the chosen 2016 Dem already. Bush vs Clinton 2016. Ugh.

Hillary is prone to fainting and acquiring concussions. How can she run for president?

For those who KNOW they want to go, the discount 'early bird' tickets end on January 1. We don't know if Ron is speaking yet, but if he is speaking and the organizations don't buy blocks of tickets, there may not be other discounts this low. I honestly don't know how that works. They do have 'youth' rather than student tickets now, deciding you only need to be young not a student to go for $40.

I'm not expecting a rush when we don't know if Ron is speaking, but I did want to pass it on that those discounts will be going away, in case people simply want to go.
