The gunman who slaughtered 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school may have snapped because his mother was planning to commit him to a psychiatric facility, according to a lifelong resident of the area who was familiar with the killer’s family and several of the victims’ families.

Adam Lanza, 20, targeted Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown after killing his mother early Friday because he believed she loved the school “more than she loved him,” said Joshua Flashman, 25, who grew up not far from where the shooting took place. Flashman, a U.S. Marine, is the son of a pastor at an area church where many of the victims' families worship.

she loved the school “more than she loved him,”

What school? I thought she had no connection to the school?

This is so bazaar, are the elite trying to pull off variations of this shooting in different dimensions and getting them crossed or what?

What school? I thought she had no connection to the school?

The article says she was volunteering with kindergarteners and that she was good friends with the school principal and the school psychologist. If he thought they had advised his mother to commit him, that might explain the altercation that he had with them at the school a few days before the shooting. Of course,we may get a completely different story about this tomorrow.

Wasn't she a (retired) teacher there?

Ok, at first it was reported she was a teacher, then it was reported she had no connection to the school..

Ok, so you're about to involuntarily place your adult child in a mental institution.. Are your guns locked up?

Wtf? Can't they keep this shit straight? I like a simple story, wrapped up with a nice little bow, no loose ends, so I can get back to Idol.

I didn't think it looked like a Bushmaster in the trunk:

This blog seems to verify my thoughts that the gun in the trunk was a shotgun:

So the two handguns gave birth to a rifle at some point in the melee. It could happen.
