Our rights, as citizens of the United States, are protected by our Constitution, which is explicit concerning our right to bear arms. We, as Americans, have enjoyed all these rights our Constitution grants us ever since our country's infancy. The Founding Fathers were explicit that these rights were never intended to be taken away, or dire consequences would follow, enslaving us all.

Speaking of arms, for months we've heard the Obama administration, the UN, the EU, and other various groups take turns saying we need to consider arming the Syrian "rebels" to finally end the civil war and the reign of Assad. We've been told that arming the rebels, who we are told are the "Syrian people", is probably the only way to ensure their "safety" against their oppressive government. These Syrian talks have been ongoing, and they continue right now as we speak. They continue these talks privately today, while the same administration publicly mourns over the Connecticut tragedy, telling us we MUST reconsider gun legislation.

This is the ultimate hypocrisy

We the American people are being pressured by our "Constitutional" government, through the Obama administration and members of Congress, to reconsider our explicit Constitutional right to bear arms, in the name of "safety," while at the same time, our own government is seeking to give American arms to Syrian rebel factions, a mixed bag of civilian volunteers, mercenaries, and organized extremists, to ensure their "safety" and success in overthrowing their oppressive government.

So, Mr. President, and certain members of Congress, are you saying that Syrian civilians and organized extremists in Syria are better suited to wield American arms than Americans?
