He seems confident that he has the votes to pass a bill that will raise taxes on those earning $1m or more and will keep tax rates the same for everyone else.

There is no news from the meetings yet.

As I understand it they all met twice. Maybe Boehner begged them to vote for his proposal.

Is it possible for a congressman to be given no committee spots? If Congressman Amash (or some of the others) vote against Speaker Boehner's proposal, could they be stripped of all their committee positions?

I think he axed committee spots just before this vote to get compliance from others. But he doesn't have the will of the people, just the fear of his caucus, in that manner. I hope he realizes, soon and decisively, how transparent that is.
