Massie sounds like he is highly touted as a champion of liberty. I look forward to his congressional service.
I am, however, a bit curious about the "issues" portion of his website.
1) No mention of the Federal Reserve. Not even an audit.
2) No mention of repealing the income tax (he supports a "simpler, flatter, fairer tax code.")
3) No mention of civil liberties (double yikes).
I was wondering if any folks here who followed his campaign closely can ally my concerns. Is it possible that he needed to look a little less libertarian to get more votes in his district? The website is not terribly inspiring.

Probably wants to come in under the radar to get decent committee seats.

I know Thomas, and believe me he is one of us to the core. Basically he is just a guy who has somewhat miraculously managed to get himself elected into Congress, and now he is adjusting to the crazy new position that he is in. Can you imagine what a shock to the system it must be? Anyway, you can have full confidence in him.
I have a lot of confidence in Congressman Massie. I recently posted some of his accomplishments that he has already performed (and he's only been in office for less than one month!):
Was one of 53 to vote "NO" on Secret Meetings for NDAA 2013: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2012/roll625.xml
Was one of 4 to vote "NO" on this Motion to Instruct Conferees (with Jones, Paul, and Amash): http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2012/roll624.xml
Was one of only 19 to vote "NO" on the Mark Twain Commemorative Coin Act: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2012/roll607.xml
Co-Sponsored this bill that is of value to several in this movement: http://www.thomasmassie.com/2012/12/03/u-s-representative-massie-signs-on-to-industrial-hemp-bill/
Overall, he has been doing quite well over the last few weeks. I look forward to him continuing to be a strong leader (especially in the upcoming hard fights on the "fiscal cliff")
Statement on "Fiscal Cliff":
In the coming weeks, the House plans to vote on bills to address sequestration and the so-called “fiscal cliff.” But the current situation is really nothing more than a ‘fiscal speed bump’ compared to the mounting debt and entitlement crisis we face.
If Congress continues to kick the can down the road and avoid making real decisions to shrink government and cut spending, our country risks becoming a large-scale version of Greece, bringing European-style austerity to the American people.

Massie is a forumite, he is one of us as much as you can be... but just remember, he's in a very 'conservative' district and has to appeal to the mainstream conservative

probably should be quiet at this point, at least not tied to him on the open board.

As for Federal Reserve:
I enthusiastically support a competing currency (or currencies) as well as auditing the fed. I conveyed this in my pre-endorsement interview with the YAL board, and my position has been accurately portrayed in a Jack Hunter video. IMHO, the single biggest issue facing our country is the national debt. Therefore cutting spending, thereby reducing the size of our government, is my top priority. These positions, and priorities, resonate with the constituents in my congressional district, so it looks like I could be joining Rand Paul and Justin Amash in DC on January 3rd! Thank you for supporting me here on rpf.
