As saddening as the event in CT is, it is equally saddening how many times similar events have played out. In the media's 24 hours news cycle, political whores from both sides of the aisle will be trotted out and spout platitudes about how unique this incident is.

Here's a little post on school violence over the last two centuries in the U.S.

School Shootings: History, what can We do..... (http://justicebeserved.blogspot.com/2011/01/school-shootings-history-what-can-we-do.html)

Historical perspective is always a good thing, even if the subject is unpalatable.

I'm sure this isn't all-inclusive but it's most certainly eye opening!

Thanks.

There, on August 1, 1966, Charles Joseph Whitman, a former Marine and a student at Texas A&M in Austin, Texas...

That was enough for me. A&M is in College Station, which is near Waco. Austin is the home of the University of Texas, which is where this incident happened.

There might be some good information in that article, but I don't care to sift through the errors to find it.

From this I conclude that life is dangerous.
