A traffic stop in Plano ended like unlike any you’ve ever heard about before.

[...] The officer wrote a citation and handed it to the 25-year-old. [Hayden] Carlo says when he took it, he could not believe what he saw.

“I opened it up and there’s a 100 dollar bill. I broke down in my car what else could I do.”

(vid on first link)

How about keep your mouth shut there guy! Now the cop that actually did something that is nearly worthy of respect is going to get his ass handed to him by his inferior superiors!

How much was the citation for, though?

One nice thing doesn't make up for all the horrible things he does on a daily basis. Also, that money he gave was stolen from taxpayer. Giving a tiny bit of it back to one is the least he could do.

The local cbs video clip says that he was able to pay registration on his car and his wife's car, so the fine itself must not have been devastating.

"It started when Hayden Carlo was pulled over for an expired registration sticker."

The joke is on him. "Here is some taxpayer money, now go down and re-up your surrendered title with registration renewal, slave."

How was that money stolen from the taxpayers? Do cops just carry loads of taxpayer money in their cars? Are you sure it wasn't his personal money?

His personal money is recieved from a government paycheck - stolen money.

That's not the same thing. That money was going to be stolen anyway. What would really piss me off is if he actually got $100 MORE from the taxpayers and gave it to this man. If that came out of his own pocket, I say that's fine and a commendable thing to do. Also, that assumes this guy has never made $100 of honest money in his whole life.

Come on scrooge. People should be commended for their generosity and doing things right. Even if you disagree with them on other things.

Wouldn't it be more sensible to let the guy off with a warning? Maybe escort him to the DMV so he could renew his sticker? I don't understand why he would give him a ticket just to pay for it. Must have a real sense of the law is the law. Probably one of cops that writes himself speeding tickets.

How come if the money had gone the other way the driver would have ended up in jail?

Oh, well in that case, I applaud that cop. Shows there are still some good people/police officers around.

Al Capone did a lot of generous things during prohibition too and the gang he was in was nowhere near as violent or destructive as the gang known as the police.

Well said. The state has no use for this kind of sympathy or, perhaps in their eyes, "weakness".
