View Full Version : I'm convinced I can run for office after I smacked down Pete Sessions...

Today I went with some other Ron Paul supporters to a Republican club meeting where I had the distinct pleasure of listening to Pete Sessions speak. When I say distinct, well I think some of you know what I mean. Anyway he started on a long tirade about why the Republicans lost the election last year. His excuses were, well lets be kind and say, laughable. He said that we lost because of the candidates the republicans had, the morality scandals, the lack of funding, the lack of cohesion on particular candidates..... BLAH BLAH BLAH

Well of course when it was all said and done, after I had the extreme displeasure of listening to a disgusting Rudy love fest, the man said "I have time for 3 maybe 4 questions. Well in a room full of 60-70 people of course I wasn't picked. I stuck around though and mingled with other Republicans who have no clue what is really going on, and it's sad. Anyway some time later after Sessions got out of his little crony fundraising meeting in the back room. I was standing near the exit discussing Ron Paul and this idiotic meeting with other Ron Paul supporters when the man comes out shaking hands and telling people good bye and yada yada. He came near me and I held out my hand, and of course we're getting smarter us RP people and I was wearing no RP button just some nice clothes and looked professional. I shook his hand and said "Pete I respect you dearly and keep up the good work, but I gotta disagree with you on why we lost last year" all while shaking his hand. He put his hands on his hips and asked me why I disagreed, I said "well the reason we lost was because of the economy and the war". His hands flew up in the air and he yelled "The Economy, the economy is doing great!" I replied "well I don't think so" (notice how he didn't say anything about the war). I told him I don't think the economy is doing "great", but regardless it's more about perception than reality Pete. The Perception is gas is way too high, prices are going up on just about everything and the dollar is getting weaker. Foreclosures are up, and we have more bankruptcies than ever. The Deficit is $9 trillion, and then he chimed in "you see but none of that matters, that's the liberal media, we'll make all that back up with growth over time". So I quickly realized after hearing him speak, and now my 3 minutes of conversation with the man it's time to make the man look and feel like the fool he is.

The conversation went on and on, I told him that while I respect his decision to support Rudy I could never support the man. He asked me over and over if it was the abortion issue, and finally I told him no absolutely not. I told him my problem with Rudy is he isn't conservative, then he went on about his lowering taxes in New York. I laughed and I said sure he lowered Taxes but he didn't reduce the size of Government. He increased the Police force and it's spending 5 fold. He claimed that was to clean up the City, I came back with "that's a very Authoritarian way of looking at the issue, he should have looked into places like Austin which is one of the safest cities in the world with one of the smallest police forces". I could tell I was getting to him, I went on to tell him that Rudy is not a conservative, hell I'm not even sure why he has called himself a Republican. This went on for a while I won't get into all of it, but I have a huge Library in my brain of Rudy smack down (thank you Youtube). Anyway the man finally says well if you're not supporting Rudy who are you supporting? I said I'm supporting the only true conservative on the stage. He asked oh yea, who's that? I said Ron Paul of course......

Now he was ready to blow up :)

Pete says "Ron Paul, Ron Paul, he's a not a republican!" he's a libertarian. I replied "well he's been in office longer than you and each time he's been elected as a Republican so if he's not a Republican what does that make you?" Then he told me the problem with RP is that he doesn't pander to our party (I swear 10 people around me laughed when he said that), I said ok well that's a good thing to me. He went on a tirade of telling me no it's not a good thing, with Ron Paul we sometimes get nothing done, no one's backs get scratched with him! He's too pure Pete says. A couple other people chime in now and ask "too pure?" I'd like that in a politician. I went on and now I just trapped and ambushed like Bill O on a roid binge. I asked "oh so you don't think we need purity in politics?" No, he replied, we just don't need it all the time. "Oh so what you're saying is that you just want some purity, not much". "No, No he replies that's not what I'm saying", by now people are laughing at the man. I quickly retorted "so we need more purity in politics?" He quipped back "yes, we do just not in Congress". I chuckled a bit and I said honestly Pete I think you and I agree that we need more Purity in general in Politics and I smiled, he replied "yes I suppose we do and he chuckled back". Now here is where the proverbial "shit hit the fan". I said "Pete I think you'd agree with me that it would serve the country extremely well to have an entire branch of the Government consisting of Purity". The classicness of his response "yes that would sure be nice". I quipped back with a big old grin "Well Pete I'm glad we both agree that Ron Paul should be President". I'll remember that moment for the rest of my life.

It went on a while longer as he some how thought he could debate me on this issue. He went so far as to out and out lie about Ron Paul on immigration and his voting record. Of course many of us were there, so that didn't fly. He called me an Ambush Journalist, which was really funny because there were no cameras around and I'm certainly not a journalist. Oh well I got a big kick out of it, and I think the other RP supporters did too. You know guys these Fox News tactics can work both ways. Have fun out there guys, really these elected officials aren't nearly as intelligent as people give them credit for.

Hahaha, that's rich. Remember the Mike Gravel quote at one of the debates?

"It's like going into the Senate, you know the first time you get there you're all excited... 'My God, how did I ever get here?' And then, about six months later, you say, 'How the hell did the rest of them get here?'"

Some people are really brainwashed and are completely devoid of principle. We need more statesmen like Ron Paul. People who do their research of things. Actually take the work they have in government seriously. Put the people before the special interests. Give good, detailed arguments for you positions... ah, politics is so corrupt.

Well I think we all want more stories like this, as it turns out I met a guy from a Church function where that I talked to about Ron Paul extensively. He was there because after he talked to me he wanted to get more involved. :) So he joined a meetup and put on a suit and headed for the Republican meeting.

Icing on the cake. We all need to get out there, I'm convinced more than ever now that we can beat these brain dead people into submission with wit alone. The Mayor of Addison was there as well, heck of a nice guy. Said he raised $20,000 for Rudy in Pledges, I told him he inspired me to run home and raise $100,000 for Dr. Paul. This is after I explained to him the many reasons why Rudy can't beat Hillary and is the sorriest candidate of the lot.

Literally the dumbest thing I have ever heard from a politician about economics.

Pete, here's a clue...

1) Rising gas prices SQUEEZE consumers, crowding out spending in other areas.
2) The $9 trillion debt, and corresponding decline of the dollar, is chasing away the foreign investment that has held growth up for 30 years. When you take away the main source of our growth, YOU DON'T HAVE GROWTH!
3) When foreclosures go up, the economy RECEDES instead of growing.

That was really, really idiotic. You should run and wipe that bastard out of Congress. Seriously.

The thing is, deficit spending on foreign wars and entitlements does not grow the economy one bit. They are quite literally pissing money down a rat hole. This is the flaw of assuming that a Keynesian strategy will cover any form of government spending.

I bet you if you cornered someone like Pete you could not get him to provide you with a single source of federal spending that actually goes to a domestic entity that has growth potential for the entire economy.

That was an awe inspiring story and you bring up a very interesting point about Ron Paul supports running for office. As most of us know, Ron Paul as President only has so much power under the Constitution. We need to seriously think about getting our folks in Congress to support him. We already have the largest grass-roots organization out there and we need to start thinking about backing, both financially and physically, those who are willing to actually make runs for Congress in their districts. We can NOT let this opportunity pass if we truly want to see our nation returned to its founding principles. As the risk of being branded a nay-sayer, I'll even go so far as to say that should Dr. Paul, for whatever reason (voter fraud, etc.) not win the Presidency, I think we should diligently work to get him some more support in Congress. There may be more than one way to skin the proverbial cat.

The really sad thing is...

Having been represented by Rep. Sessions before, and now living in Rep. Marchant's district (another "Republican"), I'd much rather be represented by Petey boy.

And, if you do decide to run for office, lemme know. I'm in the area (obviously), and if I'm willing to get the word out about Dr. Paul, I'd certainly be willing to assist with the campaign of a disciple.
