They want him gone, but word is they don't have the votes to do so.

Where did you hear that? Certainly good news if it's true.

The large amount of new Democrats registered compared to Republicans has to due with the way Obama ran is campaign and Romney ran his campaign. Obama spent a lot more money and a lot more time reaching out to people who had never voted before or rarely vote. Romney mostly focused on Republican and independent voters. Obama even focused on Republican voters. Obama ran a much, much campaign in the swing states. He helped the Democratic Party. Blame Romney and his team.

Still trying to find a scapegoat even though Spiker himself hasn't even been in office that long and the Republicans could had as much time as they could to find new faces and voters. Hopefully Spiker doesn't take this laying down.

what can we do from out of state?

Of course they don't have the votes. But we have to make sure it stays that way. He wanted the straw poll gone too, all about folding it with leadership to castrate the grass roots. RNC rules, committee purges of duly elected representatives actually representing their constituents, get rid of the Iowa straw poll where grass roots candidates have a stage....

the new Dems were GOP voting for Ron Paul, as likely as anything. they were new GOP the year before when Ron pulled them in. That is because the GOP had a lousy general election candidate, and isn't Spiker's fault.

Night of the Long Knives... the GOP is Purging at all levels...

Ron Paul republicans better watch their backs at all levels. Better yet, they should call mettings to prepare... better safe than sorry.

And grass roots at all levels need to be ready to support them.

Spiker should be SAFE, the proposal to get rid of the Ames straw poll gives him something to run on and to act as the guardian of it in 2016. I think it's popular and a huge money raiser that is only unpopular with the elites.

Last June, Republicans held a strong advantage, with about 21,000 more registered Republican voters than Democrats. But the latest report from the Iowa Secretary of State’s office shows that on December 1, there were about 5,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans in Iowa. Dvorsky says the party’s effort to identify and register new voters worked.

I wonder how many of those registered Republican voters were Ron Paul supporters? Also how many of those registered Republican voters were turned off by Mitt Romney?!

Exactly. They forgot how many Ron Paul caucus goers had been Dems and indies. They bragged about it at the time, but when they went back some how it is the FAULT of the person who drew them in to begin with.
