The Syrian military is prepared to use chemical weapons against its own people and is awaiting final orders from President Bashar Assad, U.S. officials told NBC News on Wednesday.

The military has loaded the precursor chemicals for sarin, a deadly nerve gas, into aerial bombs that could be dropped onto the Syrian people from dozens of fighter-bombers, the officials said.

As recently as Tuesday, officials had said there was as yet no evidence that the process of mixing the "precursor" chemicals had begun. But Wednesday, they said their worst fears had been confirmed: The nerve agents were locked and loaded inside the bombs.

Sarin is an extraordinarily lethal agent. Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's forces killed 5,000 Kurds with a single sarin attack on Halabja in 1988.

U.S. officials stressed that as of now, the sarin bombs hadn't been loaded onto planes and that Assad hadn't issued a final order to use them. But if he does, one of the officials said, "there's little the outside world can do to stop it."

more propaganda from unnamed officials in South Korea. As if impoverished North Korea can build missiles capable of hitting LA

-
WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – With all stages of a long-range rocket apparently complete, North Korea could be ready to launch as early as next week.

South Korea’s Yonhap News agency cites unnamed officials in the latest sign that preparations to fire off a rocket are imminent. According to the report by the agency, the rocket could be launched between December 10-12.

The launching is contingent on support equipment being installed and fueling the device, which could occur over the weekend.

A South Korean expert told Yonhap the rocket could potentially reach a distance of about 10,000 kilometers, reaching as far as Los Angeles.

I have noticed how the U.S. government and media seem to know the so-called thoughts and plans of the Syrian. I guess foreign leaders have to file a letter of intent with Obama when they are preparing to commit heinous war crimes... either that or these reports are bullshit.

New York Times. NBC and CBS are spreading the fear and propaganda this week about Syria and North Korea, mostly citing unnamed officials.

Why don't we at least wait until we see him actually use it before using military action against him, if we are so keen in going into Syria? For all we know, he might be building a swimming pool on his property and he needed some chemicals and tubes. Preemptive strikes are dangerous and reckless.
