The Mayan Calendar accurately maps the path of consciousness and accurately notes the age of the universe, the age of the earth, the age of single celled organisms, the age of humanity, the age of human civilizations and governments, when humanity first begins to reach "mass consciousness" which they predicted was the early 1990s (when the internet became public) and much, much more.

When you can explain to me how the Mayan people knew the age of single celled organisms, then, well, MAYBE you will be able to some how convince me that nothing will happen on December 21, 2012.

One thing I like about the tube is that this guy basically took what he learned in probably a decade or more worth of research and reading and condensed it into a presentation with really easy to understand explanations on his white board.

One thing I don't like about the tube is that the presenter died soon after, so there isn't a lot of follow-up. He does have some stuff on the web, though.

It's going to take one hell of a disaster to knock the deeply ingrained rot out of Joe and Jane Average. We are all witness to the undeniable fact that the wholesale murder of 3000 people in one fell swoop did not even come close to cutting that mustard, nor has the 11 years of butchery in the middle east at our hands. Do not fool yourself into believing that things are any epsilon better than REALLY fucked up where the truer position of many Americans is concerned. And it is not a matter of intentional malice - it's just that an awful lot of people have been utterly trained to self-absorption such that they simply cannot break away from their bad habits for very long, even in the wake of such sobering events as 9/11. I don't hate such people, hate being a very strong word. I do at times despise them for what I see as an inexcusable failing... but really, if I look at them more soberly it becomes clear that many of them simply cannot help themselves as they are not even aware of their own corrupted natures. In my more sober moments I simply pity them in their blind and morbidly intransigent viewpoints.

I see the future as almost of necessity leading either to their destruction or to that of my own because I do not see any practical way that people of both minds can coexist peaceably any longer because the one increasingly demands the toe of the other. The tensions between the "camps", if you will, appear to be very near the breaking point and we now live in an era where tolerance is at an all time low in the minds of so many. Couple that with the conditioning brought on by the endless violence of warfare, video gaming, and all manner of other media and I think that a great abundance of people will he happy to see those not sharing their visions of properly lived life burned to ash.

You know, for me that depends on the day, and because it does, I'm starting to think I want to live forever, but am willing to give it up at a moments notice, strange. Good times and bad times come and go, relationships come and go, even children (although I love my children more than life itself, but I've lost one to death and know that it's not the end). Experience can be painful, but also so joyful. My most loved joys are seeing others come to learn about love. I have seen that in my daughter KerriAnn and it is wonderful. And seeing thousands listen to the message and give it consideration is wonderful, although I still have my reservations about the end of that, it does give a glimmer.

Regardless of your view of religion, I've never known any fanatics to purposely try to make miracles happen because they expect them to happen, even the end of the world. That's just never been something that cults or followers of any religion do. Appeasing a god, maybe, but I don't know of anyone who thinks the end of the world is some kind of duty of ours to appease their god. You seem to think people are far crazier than they actually are.
