The Senate has reached an agreement that there be no amendments in order to the Treaty or the resolution of ratification; that following Leader remarks on Tuesday, December 4th, the time until 12 noon be divided in the usual form; that at 12 noon, the Senate proceed to vote on the Resolution of Advise and Consent to Ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; that if the resolution is adopted, the motion to reconsider be considered made and laid upon the table and the President be immediately notified of the Senate’s action; further, that if the resolution is not adopted, the treaty be returned to the calendar; and that there be no motions or points of order in order other than a motion to reconsider.

It will need 67 votes to ratify the UN treaty. There were 36 Republicans (enough to kill it) who signed a letter in opposition to the treaty but some have defected. If you have Republican Senators, you should definitely contact them and urge them to vote NO on the UN Treaty that will surrender some sovereignty to the UN.

Here's more information on the treaty:

Oh, crap.

Well, I'll call. But I'm afraid I know the outcome.

How can Senate pass a treaty with powers neither they nor the executive have themselves under the Constitution?

here's a tweet people can retweet. I used 'local rule' rather than sovereignty because I have a mixed follower make up, due to my civil liberties stuff. Local control is more appealing to the left than sovereignty. I'll send out another with that, though. https://twitter.com/usernamenuse/status/274968705094529024

here is the sovereignty version: https://twitter.com/usernamenuse/status/274969933149007874

Because Conventions on the Yada Yada of Blah Blah is what the U.N. was supposed to have been created for ....

The U.N. is nothing but a bunch of second-rate globocrats who weren't well-connected enough to cozen cushier jobs for themselves back in their home countries.

I've changed my mind about NASA. We should keep it just long enough to launch the U.N. on an intercept course with the Sun.

Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) is a terrible treaty that the United States should refuse to pass. It would require parents of children with disabilities to adhere and follow UN Protocol concerning the way they take care of their children. While it is non-binding (United Nations cannot break a country's national sovreignty...yet), our Senators should refuse to ratify this treaty because the UN has no right to be given the authority to tell our citizens what to do.

And while I know a lot of people here are not fans of Former Senator Santorum, here is a rally that he held in opposition to this treaty with Senator Mike Lee and a homeschool leader: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/video-rick-santorum-sen.-mike-lee-homeschool-leader-blast-invasive-un-treat

MAIN ISSUE: THE UNITED NATIONS HAS NO RIGHT TO TELL US CITIZENS WHAT TO DO WITH THEIR CHILDREN!!!

(In addition, here is a good post I found on DailyPaul: http://www.dailypaul.com/246155/rick-and-karen-santorum-protecting-the-rights-of-parents-and-their-children)

Thanks for posting. The United States should cut funding for the United Nations as long as they waste our money on these ridiculous treaties.

For Minnesota:

Sen . Amy Klobuchar 612-727-5220, 888-224-9043
Sen . Al Franken 651-221-1016

Be patient, as it may be a long wait. Staff were very pleasant.
