Yeah. It did occur to me that since former members are allowed the privilege of being on the floor as deals are cut during the vote, Ron could be there too if it seemed advantageous, though.

We need term limits and a ban on congress critters and staffers going into lobbying as long as anyone with influence is still in office or working there.

People in the tech field are commonly asked to sign non-compete agreements as a requirement to a company employing them. I have no issue whatsoever with making it a permanent no-no for any congressman or president to ever be a lobbyist, period. Although I suppose that would be very difficult to enforce, because they could do it under any number of guises.

How would you do that? "Lobbying" is just an extension of people being able to petition their government.

And by extension, people shouldn't lose that right by nature of employment with the government. Of course, if the government would just limit itself to its constitutional roles, the problem would practically eliminate itself.
