In other words, go grab your ankles. Stop the charade and call his bluff. Let's go over the cliff in style. The GOP will be blamed regardless, may as well drag these devils down as well. More importantly, it will speed up the secession process.

Exit question: Let it burn?

Yup. Give O Duce whatever he wants. Let him own it.

Is John Boehner Dumb Enough to Take $400 Billion in Cuts a Decade From Now in Exchange for $1.2 Trillion in Tax Hikes That Start ASAP?

Why, Cryin' Johnny's a real principled statist! And also dumb (BIRM).

It's interesting that if there is no extension of the Bush tax cuts the feds will receive $4.5 trillion over 10 years. However, if you just let the expiration of the Bush tax cuts affect only the top 2% of income earners, the feds will only receive $800 billion over 10 years. Someone is not being completely honest with us as usual, because they are dire need of revenue to maintain the illusion of normalcy. Fuck normalcy. Let it burn!

LOL - The GOP will crimp and fold faster than a Chinese laundry.

And there will be much back slapping and hand shaking and photo ops showing how "everybody came together in spirit of bi-partisanship".

Count on it.

The only thing that ever gets "accomplished" in DC is when it relates to taking away more of our freedom or the fruits of our labor.

Government becomes an engine of clicking, precise efficiency when it is doing that.

Or killing people.

At the 11th hour, a very bad one-sided deal will be agreed upon. Like Rand Paul predicted..

There is one saving grace in this entire mess. The SEIU, AFL-CIO and TIAA CREF all have large pension funds deeply invested in the stock and bond market. I think the O has less leverage than he thinks.

The turtle man actually burst out laughing.........

Mitch McConnell, the Senate Republican leader, says he “burst into laughter” Thursday when Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner outlined the administration proposal for averting the fiscal cliff. He wasn’t trying to embarrass Geithner, McConnell says, only responding candidly to his one-sided plan, explicit on tax increases, vague on spending cuts…

Geithner suggested $1.6 trillion in tax increases, McConnell says, but showed “minimal or no interest” in spending cuts. When congressional leaders went to the White House three days after the election, Obama talked of possible curbs on the explosive growth of food stamps and Social Security disability payments. But since Geithner didn’t mention them, those reductions appear to be off the table now, McConnell says.

Exactly like Tip O'neil and the Democratic Congress did to Reagan in the 80s... we all know how that turned out.

Correct. Have the entire GOP vote PRESENT. It would be all over the papers as much as the media would try to twist it. But that will never happen because the GOP is rotten to the core.

Obama is bankster scum as exhibited by this deft demand. Limitless borrowing under our name. How novel!:

To ensure that there are no more crises like the debt ceiling impasse last year, Mr. Geithner proposed permanently ending Congressional purview over the federal borrowing limit, Republican aides said. He said that Congress could be allowed to pass a resolution blocking an increase in the debt limit, but that the president would be able to veto that resolution. Congress could block a higher borrowing limit only if two-thirds of lawmakers overrode the veto.

This is what kicking the can eventually looks like. It eventually turns into flaming bottle chucking. Not in the USA you say? Right!.
