Apparently, our camp is guilty of fraud:

I may get in trouble for this, but I've said it before......I'll believe that RP is able to raise that kind of money when I see the quarterly report in a couple months.
I'm giving to Huckabee because I believe in what he stands for, not because I want to out-fundraise the other guys.

I wish I could convince them all how misguided and wrong they are to support Huckster, but that would take 10 lifetimes I'm afraid.

Yeah its all a conspiracy. I think the Huck supporters need some tin foil hats. nevermind the 1,216 Meetup Groups with hundreds of supporters each, jam packed rallies, ect ect .

I don't mind Huckabee's supporters, but to blame mass media as the reason for 9/11 takes the cake. I'm sure the citizens of Iran and Iraq didn't mind us meddling in their affiars, killing their leaders, mass bomings, or killing children.

Nah... it was the media.

right - and the FBI not acting on reports of pilots being trained to take off and fly, but not land - thats not a big deal - still the media's fault

gov't did nothing wrong, made no mistakes, never mishandled any intelligence info that could have helped them thwart the attacks.

nope liberal media.

I actually found going there to be fairly instructional as I learned what the average Huckabee supporter is like. I can't say I dislike them because I don't, but they don't represent what I represent. I want LESS government - they want more (even though they say they want less). They want more in the way of stopping drugs, and prostitution, etc... etc.... etc...
So, essentially, they are good hearted folks (just like us) who want big government (unlike us) like everyone else, but for different reasons. They want government to grow to solve what they perceive as social ills - like prostitution. Of course, being libertarian minded, I understand that using the government in this way simply takes away our liberties, it does not enhance them. So I disagree with them and I don't expect we could ever get any of them to switch to Ron Paul. When Huckabee is unceremoniously bounced out by lack of money to continue in the next month or so, they will look for the next evangelical type to take his place - Although, I have no idea who that could be but if they are looking for someone to use government to look into people's bedrooms, Ron Paul won't be their candidate.

I know exactly what you mean. I know a few Huckabee supporters and they become less enthusiastic for him over time - their interest wains for some reason. If I had to guess why, it's because they gradually start learning what his views for government really are.

You guys don't understand. Well, some of you might. Its all about control for a lot of them. They seem to think that if our boys aren't deployed somewhere in the world, they don't have control. They believe they will put all these fundamental practices they believe in into law, or the US is doomed. If they can't control a steady supply of oil from the ME without bases and soldiers over there, they don't have control.

They want control. Do not be fooled.
They want to tell you what you can do to your body.
They want to tell you who you can marry.
They want to tell you what you can do with your money.
They want to tell you who you can worship.
They want to tell you what you can or cannot say.

Every single issue that they promote under the guise of "conservative" is nothing more than a new way for them to control the populace.

I am a conservative. I do not believe in abortion, so I wiil not be promoting it. I don't believe in gay marriage, so I wiil not have a same sex partner. I do believe in God, so I will worship Him. I will not, however, make you do or not do something you want. As a Christian, my faith says to hope that all men will be saved, not to spread my faith with a sword or use a Government as a vehicle of conveyance for that message.

Us-We may not like what you have to say, but we will fight to the death so you can say it.

Them-We don't like what you have to say, and we will fight you to the death to squelch it.

Do not forget that. There is no such thing as 'personal liberty' to a good many in that crowd.

From that link:
"I have chosen to support Mike Huckabee on one particular difference between Dr. Paul and Mike, that being the War on Terror. These people hate us because our western culture is running over their locked cultures, causing them havoc. Some say it is because we are overseas and influencing and bullying the world. It is not. It s the advent of Satellite Television that is permeating the world with western culture. "

Let's face it, the meaning of the word "conservative" has changed. Conservatives now restrict personal liberties, and support corporatism and militarism. Before you say, "no, those are neocons," how many of you have referred to a socialist as a "liberal" recently? We went through this a century ago.

IMO, Huckabee has a much better story, in that he's blazing ahead despite the fact that he has raised so much less money than most of the other candidates. It's confounding all the "experts", but not those of us who have always believed that Mike is being raised up "for such a time as this". [emphasis mine]

His own supporters seem to agree with the worst of our conspiracy folk ;).

Mike Huckabee is being raised up by God for our time?

I find this suggestion deeply disturbing.

Many misled Evangelical Christians said the same thing about Bush. It's the way he talks. Bush had it. Huckabee has it. So many Evangelicals are like putty in their hands.

I can't waituntil Huckabee loses the election and goes on an eating binge and gains back those 200 pounds- we should send Big Macs to his campaign headquarters- maybe double cheesburgers, they're on the 99 cent menu. How is that for press, "Today Ron Paul supporters sent 100,000 double chesse burgers to Mike Huckabee's campaign headquarters...."
