It makes sense when you look at any historical tyranny. People don't just follow orders, they also must believe they are doing the right thing and actively enjoy it. You can switch "Nazis" with any authority figure who has the "moral right" to use violence on others.

I'm pretty sure that the threat to my liberty is NOT the government. It's the brainwashed masses that worships it.

I wonder if my grandchildren will look back on the TSA, DEA, CIA, FBI, and the rest of the alphabet soup of rights violations and think, "Damn, I can't believe Americans bought into all of that."

"Our own research shows that tyranny does not result from blind conformity to rules and roles, it is a creative act of followership that flows from identification with authorities who represent vicious acts as virtuous," he said.
Professor Reicher added: "The fundamental point is that tyranny does not flourish because perpetrators are helpless and ignorant of their actions.
"It flourishes because they actively identify with those who promote vicious acts as virtuous.
Why the Obama cult embraces his kill lists and endless wars, even though they did nothing but freak out during the Bush years. He's their sociopathic tyrant.

Yup. States are only held if the majority support it. There is no need of brainwashing or globalist world domination plans. Just make them feel that you are necessary for their existence and they will give you whatever you want.

You know, I think a good many of the Obama cult them supported it even under Bush. If you look at the figures back then, the Iraq and Afghanistan had major high approval ratings. It was mainly a vocal minority that for the most part are the real hypocrites.

The Millgram experiment seems to contradict the journalist's thesis. I don't doubt that some willingly and gleefully carry out horrible crimes on command, but I doubt it's a universal trait.
Just think if EVERYONE who went to the airport and was confronted by the TSA stopped, said, "No, I will not submit to this unreasonable search" and refused to fly rather than submit. All the passenger airlines at a standstill. Wow.

I doubt the victims care whether the person closest to them enjoys what they do, or were forced to.

If Humans were like that we wouldn't have social security numbers, et al. So long as the Human animal isn't completely cornered, there will be no fight.

As long as they remain free to rethink an idea and unimpeded by the ways of old men then they just may. We have to get in the way of the intellect of old men though.
