I always wondered what government would do without eminent domain. The owners also still have electricity and water

It might be a provincial thing, but still, the PRC will oppress you in many ways, but eminent domain is too evil for them lol.

When will China start scolding us on civil liberties?

When will China start scolding us on civil liberties?

Maybe when they stop offing their citizenry to harvest their organs for sale, or murdering female babies, or any number of other despicable things their government does.

It is very true that our own government is out of control, but to even hint that China's is some bastion of liberty is perverse to the extreme.

This does not jive with this:

Surely some of those people didn't want to go.

You know the CIA does this in Turkey and Albania. They kidnap young children ( mostly gypsies or from rural regions ) and harvest them for their organs.

I will continue to clean out our closet before I make comments about other countries. But don't be naive in thinking the most powerful country in the world has not done any of that.

There are a number of Indian states with democratically elected communist governments. They take forever to build roads because the national constitution doesn't grant them eminent domain. They are highly sensitive to moving families that have lived in the same place for 4000 years.

I don't equate power with military might. Economically, I believe China can whip our ass.

But Dr.3D you are correct that we are getting whooped right now economically. And the most sad part is the fact this country did it to itself.
