A lot of our great ideas go to waste because we simply do not have connections.
First of all, is there anybody on the forum with enough status to be a liaison? Would they be willing?
I'm talking about a person who can talk to politicians in Washington, get responses from organizations, etc.
The information and knowledge gap is simply too big.

Go look at the cars thread, and choose the person with the nicest one.
Wasn't that easy?

Lots of people on this forum have connections as a result of getting involved in the political process. The message is not lacking messengers - the ruling class simply doesn't want to hear it.
