This thread is now about how satire sites can ruin some one's reputation.

http://dailycurrant.com/2012/11/07/buchanan-white-america-dead/

White America died last night. Obama's reelection killed it. Our 200 plus year history as a Western nation is over. We're a Socialist Latin American country now. Venezuela without the oil."

"Anything worth doing on this Earth was done first by white people."

"Who landed on the moon? White people. Who climbed Mount Everest? White people. Who invented the transistor? White people. Who invented paper? White people. Who discovered algebra? White people."

"And don't give me all this nonsense about Martin Luther King and civil rights and all that. Who do you think freed the slaves? Abraham Lincoln. A white guy!"

"We're not led by Lincoln anymore, we're led by an affirmative-action mulatto who can't physically understand how great America once was."

"I cried last night G. I cried for hours. It's over for all of us. The great White nation will never survive another 4 years of Obama's leadership"

Liddy tried to reason with Buchanan, reminding him that he shares similar positions with the President on Afghanistan, Iraq, and relations with Russia:
"Of course I agree with half of what he does," Buchanan answered, "He's half white! That's not the half I'm worried about."

Crap. We'll be spending the rest of our lives telling idiots that it never actually happened.

The onion makes up the best news nice try. I wonder if he can sue for defamation of character/slander?

A lot of people either don't understand how the internet works or just have a lot of hate in them.

He is a public figure and it is a site known for fake, funny stories. Has a public figure ever successfully sued the Onion or Saturday Night Live?

This should not do a thing to hurt him.

There are still people to this day who actually think Sarah Palin uttered the exact words "I can see Russia from my house", because of an SNL skit.

I've actually used that when trying to convince people why she's an idiot (knowing it was satire) and I've actually had idiots say she mispoke, or she was misquoted, or she was just nervous when she said it. LMAO.

The Twitterz are exploding with smug indignation.

They are telling us that they told us so. Pointing out that it's a satire piece does nothing to change their mind as to its validity.

Sad but true. :( And some of these same people defend Obama saying there were 57 states.

Well, no wonder. Stop using them big words like 'satire' and 'validity'. Tell 'em it's a 'fake' or a 'joke'. :p

Doesn't matter. They don't care. It's irrelevant. No one who didn't hate & despise Buchanan before is going to start hating & despising him now because of this piece.

This piece is just an excuse for the Twits - erm, I mean Twitterers - to publicly masturbate their already-existing contempt & loathing for Buchanan.

Satire, invalidity, fake, joke - it's completely beside the point.

I know. I was being... "satirical'. :D

(..and I don't use phrases like 'them big words' in normal discourse.)

Here's Buchanan's actual post-election article:

http://www.wnd.com/2012/11/is-the-gop-headed-for-the-boneyard/

Blames free trade, and then mentions that paltry Hispanic GOP support, then mentions this:

Still, the GOP crisis is not so much illegal as legal immigration. Forty million legal immigrants have arrived in recent decades. Some 85 percent come from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Most arrived lacking the academic, language and labor skills to compete for high-paying jobs.

What does government do for them?

Subsidizes their housing and provides free education for their kids from Head Start through K-12, plus food stamps and school lunches, Pell Grants and student loans for college, Medicaid if they are sick, earned income tax credits if they work and 99 weeks of unemployment checks if they lose their job.

These are people who depend upon government.

Why would they vote for a party that is going to cut taxes they do not pay, but take away government benefits they do receive?

Again it needs be said. When the country looks like California demographically, it will look like California politically. Republicans are not whistling past the graveyard. They are right at the entrance.

I tend to agree with him on that

Even if it is satire, this part isn't too far off...

I pretty much figured that. I was just using your post as a springboard for my own blatherings. ;)

I probably should have said that to begin with. My bad.

I don't. Legal immigrants have to be petitioned by companies who want to hire them. A company won't petition for a minor position that any high school or college student can fill.

If a company doesn't petition, than a spouse has to. And the spouse has to prove the ability to support them financially. It also cost almost $2000 to file all of the forms. I know because me and my wife had to go through it...

And that is just for a green card.
