As long as after December 16th, we can say that, I don't care what happens before. We just need that one-liner: Largest in History. That is worth more than whatever the campaign can muster before that.
So, how much does it need to be to qualify as "largest in history"??

Somewhere around $5.2 million I think?

The goal isn't anything except getting Ron Paul the Republican nomination.

Yes, and everyone wants to vote for a guy that holds the record fundraiser. Shit, if he can do that, surely he can win! :)

It's real simple!
If you can afford to donate on both the 16th as well as in the weeks before, then set aside a symbolic amount for the 16th, donate that on the 16th, and donate whatever else you are willing to donate in the weeks before.
If you can't afford to donate both on the 16th as well as in the weeks before, then donate before the 16th.
But the majority of people can still do both.

$10 million is the bare minimum. The Tea Party has nearly reached the November 5th donors figures, but there's plenty of room to grow. There have been 100,000 donors so far this Quarter and hardly any of them are maxed out. Surely a lot of them can jump on board. I still think December 16th will be massive. Doubling November 5th is probably going to happen and then some.

That's the problem with some people here IMHO. Your goal should be to get RP nominated. I think Bydlak's email was very important in that regard. Do you want to make a history with 'largest one-day donation and no nomination' ? What would it change beside some members' egos? Dec. 16th is a great idea as Nov 5th was and I applaud you, RP supporters, for that, but just don't get so paranoid about it!
But hey, what do I know!

We will shatter Clinton's record. December 16th will be monumental in getting Ron Paul elected. I'd like to make history with the largest one-day donation AND get the Republican nomination! I'd rather be free AND alive!
