Tipping back a bottle for the Paul family tonight, I wonder often if I'd still be that stupid Neo-Con lost in the political murmurings of the Federal Government, if I had never discovered Ron Paul back in 2007. What an awakening it was, just to hear him speak. Amazing the intellectual progress a person can make, when the mind has finally silenced all that horrifying flag waving bullshit. Ron Paul didn't just teach me about economics, or politics, he taught me how important self interest is, and in doing so, made my family stronger, financially, and emotionally. He did help me see so many things...... and I never even met him.

Thank you, aravoth, for summarizing and packaging the message so that people like me could easily swallow it,...and then promptly get to work. In my mind, Ron Paul is one puzzle piece. And right next to him are people like Mises, Woods, Kokesh, Molyneux, Murphy, Manuel, Nystrom, Maresco, and all of those activists that have made this movement including you, aravoth.

I don't see heroes. I see humans.

Ron Paul got the spotlight for a while, but the awakening continues.

There is no awakening without people like you, aravoth. Thanks, again.

I would also like to thank all of you out there that supported Ron Paul through thick and thin!

I hope everyone will use what they learned this time and use the knowledge to put Rand Paul into the presidents seat !

Things are going to be really messed up in 4 years and just watch how many people are going to wake up next time!

Thank you to all of you for a philosophical revolution that has completely altered how I view human nature and moral interactions. I wouldn't trade a single day of the last 5 and 1/2 years for anything. And we will reach that mountaintop we're all struggling to ascend, step by uncertain step. To the past of our liberty movement and the people who laid its groundwork, we remain humbly indebted.

I shed a few tears last night, and I'm not ashamed to say so. It was because it finally dawned on me that I would never see a Ron Paul presidency. Rand Paul is great, but he's no Ron Paul. He doesn't speak with the same passion and conviction that his father does, and while he'll make an amazing president, Ron Paul would have shown the world what true humility and friendship really is.

I have STILL given out too much rep in the last 24 hours????

I just got here!

He's preparing a final speech to congress and Carol said he was hoping to present it to congress but otherwise will do it in writing.

I am not looking forward to him leaving the House, even if he is going to continue speaking out etc as he says. But I AM looking forward to that speech.

Knowledge is powerful and the people have the power!! The Revolution is alive and well, and they know it!! Thank you Dr. Paul for setting brush fires in the minds of all of us! In the end, liberty will prevail.

It would be really cool if someone did a video compilation to front page on Ron's last day, or the day of that last Congressional speech. If not an entire new one, one of the old ones with inappropriate stuff (money bomb language etc) trimmed off. My idea of the take away is the movement is growing, however, phasing, not ending, and neither is Ron's role as standard bearer, at least until the next one who can stand comparison stands up (not saying 'well there will never be another.' That is a cop out imho. Look at my avatar.) Whomever the 'candidates' might be, we have the standard, and Ron is to thank for that.

Otherwise, I'll just have to wade through what there is for the most appropriate. I have no skillz at that sort of thing.

I don't know if they'll freeze it out.... I would think it could at minimum be a c4L video and we could send it viral. cspan should cover IF he is allowed to give it to congress, I would think, if we let them know we would watch. they've been good about that.

The "Tonight" video that was posted on the front page a couple days ago almost brought me to tears. I just can't believe that America missed out on what could have easily been the best president of all time. I had a sudden realization that we missed our only chance for the country's survival. Maybe I'll be proved wrong, but that's how I feel.

couple of contrasting examples

hard 7 feel with angelic solo voice over ostenato strings

"United We Stand Divided We Fall"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqbR-nsWwzk

slow warm strings creeping staccato baseline crescendo to massive full orch choir

"Heart of Courage"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NiuHu-KqhH4&feature=related

This would might work better as there is room to put speech over the music and not lose the speech or the music.

"Freedom Fighters"

I came up with [what I think is] a cool ending to the video and put that together already. Guess I'm kinda working backwards?

The fortissimo portions can be like a black background with white text that is a pertinant quote, or shots of very large crowds chearing. You just can't have people trying to hear intricate music while also trying to hear what a guy is saying. Cutting quickly from one shot to the next keeps people watching.

Don't worry if you work backwards, forwards, or sideways. Just be sure to make something that kicks your own ass. :)

Sorry about that.

Thank you! As I said, I'm not a video editing master. What I'm going to be able to do will just be tasteful and simplistic. I'm good with static graphic design, but not video graphics. If you are looking for something edgy with a lot of custom graphics you might want to seek out someone else.

That being said, I've put a couple hours into it so far and I think it's looking pretty good. When I have a rough draft created I'll PM you a link to see if you have any suggestions and make sure it's up to RPF standards before I go "public" with it.

I don't know if you are going to have scrolling text in any part of this, if you do, here is Ron's message to the GOP after the election http://www.facebook.com/ronpaul/posts/10152139410646686

America is over $16 trillion in debt. The "official" unemployment rate still hovers around 8%.

Our federal government claims the right to spy on American citizens, indefinitely detain them, and even assassinate them without trial.

Domestic drones fly over the country for civilian surveillance.

Twelve million fewer Americans voted in 2012 than in 2008, yet political pundits scratch their heads.

It's not hard to see why, though.

To go along with endorsing a never-ending policy of bailouts, "stimulus packages," and foreign military adventurism, the establishment of neither major party questions the assaults on Americans' liberties I’ve named above.

As my campaign showed, the American people are fed up. Many realized heading into Tuesday that regardless of who won the presidential election, the status quo would be the real victor.

GOP leadership is now questioning why they didn't perform better.

They're looking at demographic changes in the United States and implying minorities can only be brought into the party by loudly advocating for abandoning what little remains of their limited government platform and endorsing more statist policies.

My presidential campaign proved that standing for freedom brings people together.

Liberty is popular – regardless of race, religion, or creed.

As long as the GOP establishment continues to not only reject the liberty message, but actively drive away the young, diverse coalition that supports those principles, it will see results similar to Tuesday’s outcome.

A renewed respect for liberty is the only way forward for the Republican Party and for our country.

I urge all my Republican colleagues to join the liberty movement in fighting for a brighter future.

but I'm not pushing it, I just wanted to make sure you had it for the materials you are selecting between.

thank you again for doing this!!
